GPU overclocking itself
Whenever I start playing a game my gpu will overclock itself to 1900Mhz. The fans become extremely loud and the gpu goes up in temp, I have set a custom core clock multiple times and it keeps getting over righted for some reason. I read up and it may be caused by GPU boost 3.0 I think, this feature really bugs me and is there anyway to turn it off?

That's entirely normal, and there's nothing you can do to change it.

Your GPU is silent on desktop because it's effectively idling. When you play a game the GPU activates and starts crunching data, ramping it's clocks up to full power. That also generates heat, and the cooling system ramps up to compensate. That cycle is unavoidable - it's just how GPUs work. The only way to avoid it is running without a dedicated GPU.

Normal. Your Graphics Card is working as intended. GPU Boost activates when necessary and turns off when not needed, such as idling on the Desktop. Do not worry.

To disable GPU boost would cripple the cards performance, that it's boosting to only 1900MHz and noisy suggests it's a founder's/ blower style card, you could simply go in and set a fan profile and an overclock to the point the noise doesn't bother you.

Im not worried at all, the fans just get so loud and are very annoying to hear at such volume

I have set my own custom core clock but it keeps getting reverted back to the automatic overlock speeds. I just now turned down the power and the temp limit hoping that it wont go past a certain clock speed

That is going to cripple your performance, use MSI afterburner and set the fan curve and overclock, f the noise is that bad for you, you could look into an aftermarket cooler solution, be it a new air, aio or waterblock.

The fan noise is normal, it's going to happen in order to combat the heat.
Game w/ Headphones, problem solved.

The OC'ing by default is normal, it's a built in Turbo Boost that newer GPUs have; when there is something demanding enough running, the GPU will do this. Don't worry, it was designed by default to work in that manner.
