Using a powerline adapter
I currently use a powerline adapter to get internet to my PC. Works better than wifi did before. I'm having troubles being able to stream to twitch and I don't understand why. I want to stream, but everytime I attempt to stream I get connection issues every thirty seconds. I ran the speed test on google and got 50 down and 20 up so a good enough upload speed to hit 6000kbps, the cap for twitch, easily. But I have the connection issue causing me to not be able to stream. I've been using my powerline adapter for a little over a year and I was wondering if the connection gets worse over time meaning I should get a new set or should I get a really decent wifi adapter instead? Obviously it all depends on my housing, but I ran a speed test on 5ghz wifi through my phone on top of my PC and got the same results, a little off a few times, for down and up so should I try out a wifi adapter?

You might get a performance boost without it being installed though. Did you try disabling the Windows 10 GameDVR and Windows 10 Game Bar?

Fine. I will leave you be. I hate leaving things unresolved is all.

I hate getting responses that don't relate to the topic of the thread. I asked about a connection issue and you seem to think I'm getting performance issues playing games. I'm not. My pc is not allowing my upload speed to work properly and I don't know why. I've reinstalled windows for it to fix it the first time I streamed and then the next time I attempted to stream it was back to the same problem I had before. I'm having connection issues, not fps issues. I don't understand how you can see the title and click on it and not understand that you need to read the entire post before telling me to do something that was unrelated to the issue.

Well, you are streaming on a 50/20 Megabit connection. 1080P requires 10,000Kilobytes per second and your max upload speed is 6,000 Kilobytes per second.

You are also using Powerline ethernet. How old is the house you are using it in? Are the links to your poweroutlets on the same power sircuit (I had this issue once or twice). Are you using a surge spressor to cpnnect those devices to an outlet (it actually helps the signal a lot)?

Also, GeForce Experience requires you to sign in to use it. It requires an internet connection to sign in...so if you are using Shadowplay, you are basically streaming already outside of OBS. That in of itself can also be the cause of your bandwidth issues.

I’m not using shadow play and OBS at the same time. I’ve been able to stream in the past. I can handle 9,000kbls in YouTube just fine, it’s just right now my connection is being bottlenecked.

Do you experience network problems with any other software or scenarios? If not, then the problem is likely in software rather than the ethernet adapter crapping out. I've not used those before, but I know newer ones can do 1Gbps networking over your power lines. I would never recommend using wifi for anything dependent on your Internet connection unless it's a mobile device or you can't physically connect to ethernet. Have you tried connecting the PC directly to the ethernet port on your router to see if you experience the same problems? That'd be the easiest way to determine if it's the powerline adapter's fault.
I haven't checked that problem, but I don't want to move my PC just to attempt that, too much work. It could be the software, but streaming using nvidia shadowplay causes the same issue.
I just decided I was going to attempt that soltuion and it turns out something is being bottlenecked on my PC. I ordered a new cpu and mobo a couple days ago, upgrading, so i could see if that would fix it. Weird thing is, I knew it was something on my PC, but I'm not sure why...

@spookeh kitteh I used a AMD RX 480 about 4 months ago before I sold it because of the increase in price to by a 1070 and had the same issues so it's not my nvidia geforce experience. THanks though for trying. Will try and reinstall my OS today to see if that fixes anything and will see if my new mobo and cpu fix anything if the reinstall doesnt.

If you use OBS, get rid for GameDVR and GeForce Experience.
You can use OBS to record to local disk at the same time you live-stream

I don't need to record and stream. I also found the problem. It was Wallpaper Engine. Sounds dumb.
