Mouse stays lit on after shutdown.
This is getting kinda annoying. My Razer Imperator mouse stays in 90% of cases lit on, after I shut off the PC and I need pull it out manually, since the breathing light distrups my sleep.
Is some BIOS setting to turn this off? I have a ASRock AB350 Pro4 mobo

There might indeed be a setting in BIOS which keeps USB ports powered for charging devices.

My motherboard also has such a feature. But I never had any issues with it, it always shuts down any connected devices.

Mine stays on all time too but it doesn't bother me. Often not all usb's provide power during shutdown, try a different one. Maybe you have a switch on psu? you could just turn off power completely.

You get to choose what you want to do.

A. Check in the BIOS settings if there's an option for charging devices option, or stay on after power down.

B. Unplug it everytime, or get a USB extension cord to make it more easier to unplug, and plug back in later.

C. Get a thick dark fabric, or container to cover the mouse to block off the light.

D. Turn off the lights from the software, and never turn it back on.

My mouse stays on too, but I usually turn off my pc via the psu to save power as the motherboard also stays on in standby mode.

ErP in bios. Setting to S5 or S4+S5 will kill power to +5V standby rail for charging usb devices when pc is powered down. Sometimes called EuP or deep sleep depending on mobo. It will also disable PME event wake up and WoL though.

On this build my external usb led strips stay on, mouse turns off but lights up if moved. Can get them both to go off and stary of by changing a setting in the bios. ERP if I remember right. Will check and confirm when Im home and use my PC later

Enable/Disable the "ErP" option in BIOS

Unfortunately there is no such option in ASRock UEFI. There is a Deep Sleep option, I just hope it will do the trick. If not, I try other USB ports.

Appreantly its a feature that certain ports are powered all the time if PC has power. Guess next time I go MSI.

The ErP is on my Gigabyte board. I didn't know what it was but I contacted support telling them That certain USB device LED stay on and they told me how to stop it by changing the ERP setting. So I'd recommend contacting ASRock support to see if there is an alternative for that board.

I checked the manual of this motherboard and there is no mention of a feature for charging USB devices while the system is shut down.

quick fix: USB 3.0 Hub 4 Ports with Individual On/Off Switches[www.amazon.com]

As a bonus having a hub near your monitor is very convenient, I have one without the switches.

Depends on the BIOS, however...

Upon booting launch BIOS.

Enable "Deep Sleep" under "chipset configuration" to power off the USB ports when shutting down or sleeping.

The motherboard's idea is to keep powering the used USB port(s) to charge up devices, such as if you where charging your smartphone on it at the time, etc.

The deep sleep option did nothing, mouse stays lit on. Both the keyboard and mice are in the highest USB ports in back of the PC. I have noticed that on Gigabyte boards those ports are yellow colored, which means they are constantly powered. Probably here is the same case.

The only solution will be probably to move the mouse to one of the USB 3.0 ports on the bottom. But funnily my ASUS Cerberus keyboard is also LED backlighted and uses those ports yet it turns off properly.

My Gigabyte Aurous Z270X gaming K5 will keep my mouses LEDs on when using the dedicated top USB ports. Some other USB ports will also keep some devices powered. After contacting Gigabyte support they told my to change the ErP setting in the bios to turn them off. This worked for all USB ports that remained powered. So their is a way to disable the constant power you mention.

If you can't find a setting called ErP or similar just contact ASRock and ask them if there is a setting for it and if so what and where it is.

Just install Razer Synapse and then choose to have the mouse shut off when the pc shuts down. (It's in the settings of that app.) Sometimes it messes up and I just unplug the mouse and plug it back in. Only my Razer mouse seems to do this, not my other Razer products.
