[SOLVED] Problems with the qualcomm atheros qca9377 Wifi card
Hello, I bought a new Acer Aspire 5 (A515-51G-303X) / I3 - 6006U / 4GB ram / Nvidia 940 mx Laptop, and it has the qualcomm atheros qca9377 Wifi card.

after setting it up, I couldn't get a whole much done, because the download speed was just terrible, I was barley able to download Google Chrome, thinking that Microsoft Edge was the probleme. but no, downloading from Chrome or Steam desktop app, gives me around 100kbps that's never stable, goes as low as 30kbps and sometimes 0bytes download speed. while on my other laptop I can stream full hd Youtube videos with no buffering and download speed as high as 2 Mbps. I have other monitoring program on my old laptop and I can confirm that no one else was using the internet. I did what I can do (restarting the router, messing with the settings, updating all drivers (which took forever.)) and no result. I looked it up on google and many people reported problems with this Wireless card. however many fixed it disabling what's called 'WMM' on their router settings. something I don't have when I access my router settings.
Thanks in Advance

Artifice, could you tell me which settings you changed? I have the same laptop and can't find out why it is slow, it has around the same speeds as you had.
It seems to work fine on other networks though, which is weird.

then it"s probably some settings within your router you need to change. this "Soulotion" I did was only temparoraly before the same probleme occured again, funnily enough I"m currently filling out the papers for the arranged resend of the laptop back to Acer to have it checked, cause I"m pretty sure it"s a probelem with the Wifi Card. if you still want to know I went to advanced settings tab on the Wifi card settings (that you can access through the device manager) there I changed the wireless mode multiple times till I found one that "Worked" but it eventually doesn"t.

I fixed it,

I had to go to Device Manager > Wifi card settings > Advance Tab > Wireless options, and then switch them till I found one that worked.

I cant thank you enough for this solution. I spent hours tinkering on Windows and who would have though I would find a solution in a Steam community. Thanks a bunch. I was about to take a ♥♥♥♥ ton of trouble for this nasty issue but you fixed it.
