No but's about it. The E10K lacks an amp which makes it a mere DAC. DAC's are incapable of amplification alone so if the OP is using headphones with it, they may as well hook them straight into the headphone jacks on their laptop.
Meanwhile we have the SoundBlaster Omni...which not only is capable of Dolby Digital Live and DTS-HD, but it also has a 600 Ohm impedence at the headphone jack. That is studio grade headphone amplifier equpiment on that sucker for realatively the same price as the E10K....
So that not what you call an amplifier? what else is that amplifier in the product sheet?

hmm Fiio E10K Olympus 2 DAC/Amp... hmm why is everywhere the Amp in the name? Yeah because clearly the entire internet is wrong [/ironie]
When you ask others not to talk about stuff they dont know and then staking stuff that you clearly dont know about not cant explain...
Happy to see how you want to talk yourself out of it again.
Yeah. I know what is Ohm's law is, but what are you talk about? I do same thing from 32 Ohm 200 mW to 600 Ohm 10.67 mW.
Such as,
I want to finding what is answer for using 600 Ohm on headphone amplifier.
To find out for volt because that is main power supply voltage for amplifier.
sqrt(200 mW * 32)= 2.52982213
Then I want to finding out how many power with 600 Ohm.
sqr(2.52982213)/600= 0.0106666667 = 10.67 mW.
So it is same thing.
Yes, this is sound card and is headphone amplifier. Without it, it wouldn't work. EX: DAC>opAMP>amplifier>headphone. This is what some DAC/AMP has it. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/texas-instruments/TPA6120A2DWPRG4/TPA6120A2DWPRG4-ND/1907430
Still not as capable....? Why not?
Simple answer is
While an old Dells integrated soundcard may be limited, it really depends on what you'll be listening with.
Headphones/Headsets tend to be limited themselves unless you go with the somewhat expensive ones
With actual speakers you pretty much have more room to customize the settings to your liking
Whereas as mentioned before, USB type systems basically use their own hardware/software and wont use the Integrated soundcard at all so depending on what customizations they allow they may not be any better than what the Integrated soundcard offers.
I use the Integrated Realtek on my Z68 board and it does perfectly fine because im using a 5.1 surround system, even though they are nearing 10 years old or some such they still offer good sound because i customize the settings to make them sound good.
On the other hand
Due to it being a crappy Dell to begin with
You may be better off just saving up any money and putting it towards a new system
Even a starter Ryzen system would probably be better than what you have and in the process youd be getting a better Integrated Soundcard as well.
So ehhh... all depends on what you want to do i guess
By 'system', what are you referring to? A desktop?
Also, for desktops, what determines the sound quality? Since the desktop itself doesn't seem to come with its own sound card. If I plug in headphones into the desktop without speakers, where does the sound come from?
And where is the integrated sound card contained?
The motherboard is where the integrated soundcard is, All PCs and Laptops come with an Integrated soundcard as part of the motherboard
Where you plug in your speakers or earphones in the back of the PC, thats part of the integrated soundcard. Front sound inputs/outputs are connected to it as well.
What determines the quality of the integrated soundcard generally has to do with the quality of the motherboard itself, higher end motherboards tend to come with higher quality integrated soundcards.
But generally speaking most PCs or motherboards made within the past few years typically have good enough soundcards that external or dedicated internal soundcards such as PCI or PCI-E arent needed except in the case where the User requires something better for whatever reason.
