Id go for the ASUS if i had to choose, seems to be a 2017 model, but its LCD instead of LED so thats kinda surprising...

The LG is LED, but IPS can have screen bleed so thats kinda iffy..

If you can get an ASUS LED model for near the same price id probably go for that

from Asus website: Panel Backlight / Type : WLED/ TN

Personally I'd go with the Asus.

Asus has slightly faster response time and no chance of IPS backlight bleed.

LG will look prettier and you probably won't even notice the slightly slower response time but you also run the risk of a panel with backlight bleed.

Why do ppl always make up respond time soley on grey to grey times? Do you all play on black and white without colors?

IPS has a fast as TN respond times outside of grey to grey...

PS LED backlight is still LCD.... Look on how a LCD monitor work. They are all LED backlight as they need a LED to break the light to have the rotating crystal display the different lights according to the way they rotated an break the light.

Its not Wrong.
LCD is a screen with crystals obviously. The crystal work as a prism that breaks light and that way display a color. To break light you however need a light source in the first place. That is done with LED's in the background.

So as matter of fact you both right. You when saying it is a LCD screen and him when he says it is LED backlight.

TN and IPS are both LCD. The LED part is about the backlighting. There is no such thing as an LED TN or IPS. Both are different types of LCD panels.

EDIT: tacoshy beat me to the punch... :isaac:

Avoid ones below 24-inch if you can. Those all are based around very old tech specs.

Or step up to something like this:
