If their stock is cl10 2T drop to cl9 1T same for cl9 2T drop to cl8 1T or at the very least 1T.
dropping CL (timings) will decrease stability... You have to raise the timings to increse the stability.
PS: Ok its one of the few DDR3 motherboards but you cant change timigns anyway as it isnt OC capable.
Ah okay, thanks for letting me know. Guess i’ll stick with the speed it supports then.
Also make sure to look what RAM you need. Might need DDR3L (1.35V) and not normal DDR3 (1.5V)
I'm using normal ram currently and its working fine. My motherboard supports both DDR3 and DDR3L.. the people at the store where I brought the new ram told me not to bother getting DDR3L.
Also i just found this and it apparently does allow XMP usage to happen it just can't overclock the CPU.

The supported RAm section is important:
Apperently it can use both DDR and DDR3L. I would recommend DDR3L. 1.5V is a bit much for normal usage on LGA-1151.
Also Supported RAM officially is only up to 1600MHz.
So yes the RAM you choose will work just fine.
Thing is the RAM i purchased is automatically already at 1600Mhz. If it does support XMP then it means i should be able to maybe set a bit of a higher clock? as G.Skill Ripjaws X says on the label on the RAM stick that it is Intel XMP ready
Fastest this board is able to do is 1600Mhz.
So wait does this mean that my current RAM is also running at 1333Mhz? The one i'm currently using is from Kingston Fury HyperX Black 2x4gb sticks also 1600Mhz but it does not allow XMP to be enabled.
it is XMP ready to OC the RAM to 1600MHz...All DDR3 RAM is 1333MHz. To reach 1600 you need to OC it and XMP is just a profile to auto OC it where it has been pretested to run stable at.
In CPU-z navigate to the Memory tab and check what the DRAM frequency is. Multiply the DRAM frequency by two to get your actual speed.
I have used CPU-Z and it shows the ram is running at 667Mhz
667MHz * 2 = 1333MHz (DDR = Double Data Rate = Double the frequency)
