upgrade from fx6300 and gtx 960 4gb
hello I want to build a new PC, because my PC is not strong enough for new games. The new system is designed for at least 60 FPS on high to ultra settings to 1080P (Full HD). what should I buy ryzen 1600x or ryzen 2400G with 16GB Ram, the graphics card are currently very expensive, I actually wanted to get a rx580 or Gtx1060 6GB, should I still wait, or another alternative? anyone recommendations? My budget is + -1000 €.

Because of the cost of a new CPU/Mobo/Ram being so high atm, I am inclined to recomend the now realitivly cheap option of an inplace upgrade.

*if you have a decent motherboard...*

Normaly the FX line would not get a recomend, but for your case you can spend $145 at walmart of all places and pick up an FX8370 (comes with a Wraith cooler too!).

The FX8370 is capable of maintianing a solid 60, though not much more, in most all modern titles, especialy with a decent overclock, and for $145 it gives you a very low cost solution to get to where you want *now* while allowing you to save most of your money for a mainline system upgrade in Q4 of this year...

No reason for the 2200g your 960 is more powerful than it

And 2400G?because I really want to wait until the prices of graphics cards is reduced. I dont know..

You would be better getting the 1600 and keeping the 960 since it is more powerful than the 2400g APU.

cpu and ram as fast as possible for 1000$. the gpu prices and availibilities won't change in the moment. stay with the gtx 960. the card is not really bad.
;-D

Ty guys.

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/fV6qsZ assuming you have a HDD, case, and PSU you can reuse. But I would wait a month or so for the 2600 to release.

Your welcome. Point is, an FX 8370 is enough power for 60FPS 1080p in most games, even the newest ones.

So is your 960 is most cases.

that FX6300, not so much. In modern games it likely tops out in the mid 40's under load,

Save most of your money on a whole new system, but drop $150 on a top line FX chip to get your current rig up to par in the mean time ;)

Win : Win

Just make sure you have a motherboard that can support 8 core FX chips, they are power hungry and you will need a proper board (not some ECS crap from an OEM) to be able to run one...

Dont expect much of an overclock on 8-core FX unless you are on 990FX, as *most* motherboards not running 990 will not have sufficient power delivery for stable upper level overclocks (8 core FX chips can pull over 200w under load when overclocked).

thank you guys, but i wait until the graphics cards and ram prices drop again. the fx processors need a lot of power, the fx cpu gets hot very fast, and does not provide enough power.

As someone who has played allot of GTA 5 on an FX 8 core @ 4.5Ghz, both with an R9 290 and HD7870, and who has a friend who still does regularly, I can tell you it does fine. Averages mid 50's to low 60's with *ocasional* drops into the 40s in real world usages with settings correct for either GPU...

FFS, that guy is trying to run the game *litteraly* maxed out (something not even Nvidia recomends with a *Titan*) and then wonders why he gets hitches and issues...

Pro-Tip, its the PCSS...

As someone who went from playing GTA on AMD with CHSS, and switched to Nvidia with PCSS, it might look *slightly* better, but the performance hit was enourmous (talking 25% or more on a 960) with huge dips into the 20's @ 1080P even with a 4790k @ 4.8Ghz.

Can keep all settings otherwise the same and set it to softest shadows and have a solid 60 at the exact same settings. Only difference, nvidia branded shadows...

I hate poepl pulling such a useless comparison to make.

The whole point is though, an 8 core FX *is* enough for 60fps @ 1080p in *most* games...

Here, watch this vid. The guy hates FX chips, and the FX chip loses compared to intel (no duh), but even this guy admits (and shows) that even in CPU bound modern titles like AotS an FX 8 core @ 4.8 can pull 60 FPS in almost every single game he tests... Tested in 2018, not ages ago (looking at you 2015 GTA vid...)

8 core FX chips *are* valid for 60FPS gaming at 1080P in 2018. They wont be for much longer, but it is enough for you to get what you *want* (1080p 60fps) without spending more than 150.

Meanwhile you will have most of you money to save for a *whole* system upgrade latter down the line.

Or, you can choose to ignore the chance to grab cheap 60FPS now, and stick with your existing system for months more, strugling, when you could have what you want now for 150 in *most* titles...

Anything other than those parts will be a waste of money, because that particular part will become useless when you return to the mainline.
Idk is the price in $ and € same, but i see bundle ryzen 1600x 16GB Ram and Mainboard for 460-520€.

Ty dude, agree, but new games with FX CPU only in low - mid settings for gameplay in 60fps 1080p because FX Bottleneck GPU

I have gtx 1060 6GB, which is exactly twice more power full than your GTX 960. And my CPU is 5th gen i5. Which is far more powerful than any FX.

I barely gets 60 FPS in modern games, sometimes fps drops to as low as 45. Even with Anti-Aliasing turned off. Games such as Deus Ex mankind devided, Just Cause 3, Homefront the Revolution, etc. All played by me 1st hand (look my profile).

You need at least i5 + GTX 1060/70 to get anywhere near 60 FPS in New Games. Or have to drop the graphics settings to medium/ low.

Anyone says otherwise, surely no idea about current AAA games.
Thank you..
agree, FX is old and bottleneck new GPU´s, its time to upgrade for Ryzen but price for Ram and Grapiccards sucks currently.
