An even simpler way would be checking your board itself. You can manually check the RAM type by looking at the sicks(it's usually printed on them) and the sockets, or by checking the Chipset of the motherboard.

That is what CPU-Z is for....If you take a good look at the screenshot, you will see the RAM spped displayed quite clearly.
