i7 7700k 1.250V? Safe ?
Hey guys, just tweaked down some Core voltage on BIOS, i put 1.250V for the i7 7700k stock ? Is it safe ?

Of course it will be safe, but stability may suffer. You'll find out if it isn't.

Sorry im amateur in these things what do you mean by stability ?

Stability as in it might crash at a lower voltage, the lower you go the more likely you run into stability problems at a given clock speed. Just play with it, find the lowest you can go without it crashing and then bump it up an increment for good measure once it does crash.

everythign below 1.4v is perfectly safe. voltage actually mostly is raised to increase stability when overclocked. Lowering voltage on a stock frequency makes no sense as you have no heat issue there unelss you take a bad cpu cooler in which case volatge tweaking would be the wrong solution.

Or you simply want to use less power or go for a more quiet system (ex.undervolted HTPCs with passive cooling) in which case it makes perfect sense.

then you dont buy a 7700K when you going to udnervolt and underclock in the first place. Second udnervolting wont make your PC quiter. The voltage has nothign to do with the sound of a PC just the heat and such low udnervolting at this stock clockrate maybe saves you 1-2 degrees. If you choose good coolign solutions you can run the fans at minimal speed anways.

For a HTPC where you care for noice over performance you dont buy the most expensive OC-CPU's...

Less heat, lower fan speed, less noise. Pretty simple logic. He could be using stock cooling in a place with high ambient temperature, who knows.

customized fan curve... like I said undervolting a 7700K to that voltage does not make a difference of even 2°C which is nothign while the fan would need to spin lower.

Since you can use the CPU fan on stock voltage at lowest RPM you dont need to lower the volatge their and again that is the wrong CPU to do that for.

Lol, it doesn't really matter what his reasoning is those are just potential examples, it being pointless or not is up to him, not you.
