E7600 or E8400 ?
They are identical in performance
The core 2 duo 7600 supports DDR3, but, I noticed some performance stability issues with the 7600, and because it's a lower gen CPU it could be less Future proof.
Your opinion ?

Neither of the two are futureproof. Both pretty outdated if you have modern games in your mind.

8400 has a bit better overall performance with larger cache and it supports 1333Mhz RAM.

The E8400 is technically a slightly better CPU, but either way you look at it they are both very obsolete tech at this point.
Since I only play Tf2 and Indiegames, I don't need a better pc, why buy an new CPU when you don't need the extra performance ?

In this case it's more of a switch, since I owned both of the PC's, but the 7600 pc was hidden away for some time in my Attic

Even with those games you will see a vast improvement with a newer CPU.

Comparision between the E8400 and Pentium G4560 (the lowest end Kaby Lake)...
