Rivatuner crashes my games
For some reason my games crash within a few seconds of starting them..
Ive had msi afterburner and rivatuner forever and its weird that its happening just now.. i dont understand why ?

I disabled a few things to see if they were conflicting with the games,, and eventually found that it was RivaTuner

I like to see my fps, gpu temp and gpu vram stats on screen while gaming..
Is there an alternative to rivatuner ?

Or has anyone any suggestions to fix the problem ?

I uninstalled rivatuner then reinstalled , even before this I verified my games files and even uninstalled/reinstalled them.

But with all programs ect running I can only play games if I disable rivatuner..

Thanks for any help.

Why are you using Rivatuner now? Hasn't that stopped being updated for almost a decade?

Its always done what I wanted it to do..

Are there alternatives ?

MSI Afterburner should do most/all of that? I think, haven't used it in a couple years.

I just viewed a vid on yt of afterburner, with the guy showing how to use its monitoring tab..
He has a 'section show in on screen display'thats very similar to rivatuner.. the vid posted on jan 2018 so its up to date.

But I dont have that option.. I'll see if theres an update for afterburner and hopefully that will work..

I use Rivtatuner V7.0.2 + HWInfo64 on Windows 10 Pro 1709 and it works for me. I don't use MSI afterburner anymore though. Maybe try version 7.0.2 if you are not already? I It's still gets updated every now and then.

Also I think the latest version of MSI Afterburner should have the latest version of Rivatuner according to the website, and they recommend unistalling both MSI Afterburner and Rivtatuner and performing a clean install.

I have an AMD 7970 top edition..

Ive been using NZXT CAM , https://camwebapp.com/ , for display info for a few hours, I prefer rivatuner/afterburner..
It does the job though.

I done a clean install of afterburner from their website but had no luck opening games.

You know what I am using a Nvidia card at the moment, but I have used version 7.0 and later of Rivatuner with my RX 480 for a while and it was working. So I wonder if there was a driver update that broke compatibilty Rivatuner or maybe it's an MSI Afterburner issue? It worked with my RX 480 but at the same I did not have Afterburner installed. I believe I was using version 17.12.2 at the time but some DX9 game would not open with that version (I think the latest verison fixes that issue though).

Before this didn't happen right? So I think it could be a driver update or maybe a Windows update that broke something.
