Full screen optimisations
Majority of games that I install on my windows 10 64 bit whether new or old ,I have to right click on game exe file and disable "Full Screen Optimisations" or else games run on 30fps lock.Is this a common issue on windows 10 64 bit pro ? I have latest version of windows 10 64 bit installed ,before I used windows 8.1 and this never happened. Also I am using a Laptop with following specs :
i7 6700 HQ
gtx 960m
1 tb hdd
128gb ssd

when you updated did you install the NVIDIA driver yourself?
Manually installing all drivers is best when doing major updates, including the Fall update because its basically a Fresh install, you dont want the Windows Update drivers.

Also
are you sure that the games have been using the 960m each and every time before you had to disable it? as you are on a laptop you should make sure the Integrated isnt being used.

But no, i dont think thats normal, at least not for Desktops it isnt.
i dont think it would be for laptops either though.

I installed latest gpu drivers from nvidia official website ,Yes each game is using 960m becoz in properties I have set everything to use high performance nvidia processor and msi afterburner shows that nvidia gpu is being used.Strange thing is if I don't disable Full screen optimisations then gpu and cpu usage also remains low since games gets locked down to 30fps.In gta v I had to even untick that option in windows settings called "Use game mode for games that are verified by microsoft " and "full screen optimisations both or else it was also running in 30 35 fps.Few days back I tried life is strange and the game wasn't going above 30 to 35 fps.I located game exe file disabled full screen optimisations and that same game started running with 100+fps.Its kinda annoying I have to disable this option in every games exe file.Maybe some of you have a very high end rig u won't notice anyways.

This means that I am right ,people even with high end pcs can get even more fps by simply disabling full screen optimisations ,microsoft seriously wtf ,an average user who don't know pc that well how the hell he is supposed to fix blunders made by you.

Try what they said and see what happens.

Uncheck “show game bar when I play full screen games Microsoft has verified”

There are many software errors made by software companies. They simply cannot test the code on the millions of hardware platform configurations out there.

They said to disable globally uncheck show game bar but still fps is being choked in games ,I have to manually disable full screen optimisations on each games exe file to get full fps.Well atleast I know my way around this problem still its annoying as f***
