Thank you, i will take a look at one i am ordering.
Its a LGA 1151 mobo that im looking at right now, guess i will have to find one that is a ddr4 mobo that takes LGA 1151 i7 processors. Know any good ones?!
This any good? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/xwz3r7
If u have no oc plans, grab a cryorig h5 or h7 or so.
Nope, its just a 4790 not the K series. Plus i regret buying a pre build computer from shop owners, they are full of rubbish what they say. Feel like i got mug written on my forehead. Thats the thing with pre builders, in for the money and couldnt careless about the actual customer. I feel so frigging stupid.
How about this? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/ Would it be compatible with my i7 4790?
But here is my current specs below, i just want to find a good ddr4 mobo that is compatible for my i7 4790 processor and specs.

So if i get a new mobo i can't fit my i7 4790 in that mobo that only supports 1150?
Ddr4 is not much better than ddr3. And replacing a motherboard just to have ddr4 is a waste of money, and im pretty sure its not even possible with haswell cpu.
And ofc replacing an i7-4790 would be a waste too because its still a very good cpu.
Im doing this because when my mobo is faulty i know what i want to upgrade to next, plus ddr3 will be outdated soon anyways.
The 1070 is going to limit the performance of the 4790 or replacement cpu, whichever way you decide to go.
Assuming that you want better performance -
Do you buy a replacement mobo and put the extra towards a new Volta gpu when they arrive?
Or do you buy new cpu / mobo / ram and stick with the 1070 until Volta arrives?
You can't use ddr4 with a 4790, so if your motherboard has died, sadly, your best hope is to pick up a second hand z97 or dig deep for a new CPU, mobo and ram, the cheapest option that will be an upgrade will be the new i5 8400 6 core, or jump ship to the AMD ryzen 5 1600.
