Is it Hardware or a bad Driver?
You should have the integrated driver disabled while using a dedicated GPU. Most motherboards do this by default, when a dedicated GPU is used. Always plug displays directly into the GPU, not into the motherboard.
how i could find this out? it doesnt have any issues when the drivers are disabled if that helps anything, but everything runs miserably without the drivers.
im pretty sure my gpus are integrated so im not sure thats the problem, but i guess id have to pop my case open to figure that part out. cant remember how i set it up exactly.
The Intel HD is integrated into the cpu. The Nvidia gpu is a dedicated GPU.
Follow the steps to clear out and fresh install your GPU driver, then report back.
ive had my computer running most of the day and it hasnt crashed yet which is a huge surprise, so tomorrow if i have any problems ill try this and youll hear back from me. all i did was got a new update for windows.
as i kind of expected, my pc display adapters crashed again today, and so i uninstalled my display drivers as you said and am currently reinstalling and updating my nvidia card. however my intel gpu isnt showing up in the device manager. does my intel gpu affect anything much?
When you have a dedicated GPU (your Nvidia GPU) installed in a desktop, you do not need to worry about the integrated GPU (the Intel GPU inside the CPU) as it should be disabled by the motherboard automatically. Just be sure to not use the video connections from the motherboard. Only use the video connections from the back of the GPU.
When you first bought this PC, or put this PC together, did you install all your hardware drivers?
i didnt install all of the drivers right away as i was pretty new to the whole pc scene and didnt know much. but once i figured out i needed to i installed the geforce nvidia drivers but thats it
I'll list all the Drivers.
