The sound quality is great too. Despite the tiny speaker they don't struggle with low end response or volume.
You'll learn not to stand up while wearing them after the first couple of times you almost face desk :D
yea if you forget it you can destroy the cord or the jack connection...i cant recommend this...maybe its good for you but not for anyone
anyway if you compare bose in-ears with bose on-ears (because same manufacture) you will notice that you have better quality with the on-ears (but the in-ears from bose are good too yea)
Yeah tried ways of placing headset in a place where I wont damage it, always forget it once and sit on it.
Sit on my glasses a lot too. I think im too old to learn otherwise.
Hairs in the ears start getting in the way of things, wish I could break those, why don't our fingers fit inside our ears how annoying is that?
The status audios have an interesting cable system on them but they are on the higher end of my budget.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Superlux-HD681EVO-Black/dp/B00CAG1ZAQ/
On the superlux HD681EVO would that connector to extend the cable add any noise? Sorry if this is a silly question I am not really up to speed on my audio gear. Really just want something simple and rugged and does the job well without any fancy design to sell it to me.
Thanks for the help with this guys certainly giving me some options to check out. Im glad that I am on the right path by staying away from USB, and going with the 3.5mm I thought maybe I was just being an old person and hanging on to old technology but it seems like that is the way.
Interested to see someone suggest a lapel mic too, which I could get if I do choose to use a microphone. It seems others are thinking likewise as I am and choosing to have the option of seperated headphones and mic.
This thread has been reassuring, and that my budget will actually get me some okay gear.
Any more suggestions is good I can possibly go up to £60 on budget if I have to and if you have other suggestions.
To answer your Q the connector uses an extension-type cable so as long as the extension makes good contact, should not be any noise at all but it is something that can wear out over time - and if it does, a new extension cable is a relatively cheap fix.
For a *real* closed back budget choice, I found the AGK K52[www.amazon.co.uk] for £35 (down from £50, a very good deal on sale)
clip / lapel mics
Gyvazla 3.5mm Lavalier Lapel Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone[www.amazon.co.uk] £10
Lapel / Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Clip Microphone[www.amazon.co.uk] £9 (I think it's the same one as above for one less quid )
They seem to be amazons choice, and at a cheap price too. It has them listed at £27.20p
Definitely interested in those.
The ATH-M20x and Samson SR850 are also amazon choice, at £39
They seem to have a bigger range though. 10hz - 30khz. They are open back though.
The AGK K52 is 18hz - 20khz. Like the simpicity of those, the pads look comfy too. Bit worried that it will be a case of buy cheap, buy twice.
There is still the glasses thing, too. I have found that most over-ear headphones aren't very comfortable for me. There are some exceptions, like the Sennheiser Game One (headset, based on the HD580), which by the way is the best headset I ever had and probably the nicest all-around headphones that I have tried and that are still made as well, but most are tight and clamp-y.
My causal cans that I use with my laptop when watching educational videos/courses is the Ultrasone HFi-15G. It does not interfere with glasses at all and I can wear it all day every day. It looks more simplistic and cheap than it is, but the sound is great for the price. I bought a second pair recently to use with my tablet.
The Audio Technica M50X is what I use for mixing because it's they are neutral and don't color the sound. I have had those for a few years now and they hold up well overall. I had a few costly Ultrasone headphones (in the €500 range) that I didn't get on with. I didn't like the sound or the clampiness and ended up returning them.
Oh, and I'd stay away from headphones and headsets made by gaming accessory makers, like Razer and Corsair. These are extremely hit and miss, in my experience. I could have saved money and hassle if I had gone straight for the Sennheiser Game One.
