my cpu temp is 100
recently i have low frame rates on games that is suppose to work very well with my system
i am using a laptop dell 7577
i7 7700hq
ram 16gb
gtx 1050ti
nier automata , ac:odyssey, star wars jedi fallen order
i get to make all settings at lowest and my resolution to 1360*768 although the default is all high and 1920*1080 but it just so much stuttring.
when i first open up my laptop my cpu is at 30C
after around 15 mins of playing on high settings it starts stuttring and it goes to 98-100C so i lower everything which made me figure that it's a heat problem.
1 more thing if i don't turn on my fan in the room (i don't have a cool pad for my laptop) every game will have a time where it drop from 120 fps to 15-30 fps for around 1 or 2 minutes even if i lowered my settings.

Well that's a start, yes try Throttle Stop and see if that helps further. Keeping it below 90*C would really help.
what do i do exactly with throttle stop do i just keep it on in the background or what ?
I create a basic task in task scheduler so that it starts in the background every time I log into the PC. Yes, it must always be open. Tutorial starts at around 5:20:

Still shouldn't be running hot enough to throttle.
It's a 7700k

7700HQ actually, OP didn't know that 7700K is a desktop CPU

Ah.

i am not overclocking my cpu btw
hi everyone thank for all responses here is what happened i opened my laptop according to the video above although i couldn't find the full version again. i cleaned the dust and ran 30 mins stress test before it was 100 but now it's 94 :D
not the biggest improvement but at least i am glad i plugged it in again and it turned on without issues .
there is something mentioned about doing voltage with throttle stop in the comment section of the video if someone know exactly how to adjust that like having same laptop i would be grateful

note : i didn't change my thermal paste because i don't have the tools for it ATM

ThrottleStop does help, reduced my temps by 6c.
6*C isn't enough of a reduction from 100*C though. If it's going above 95*C it's obviously full of dust, not being elevated during heavy use, or the fan needs to be replaced.

OP dusted it out and now it's 94.

Nice.
Browser is probably using gpu, heating things up. For that just disable hardware acceleration in browser settings.
i just finished stress test for 20 mins max temp 74 :steamhappy::steamhappy:
that solves my problem thanks everyone
