Back to your question, yes the 2080S should last a few years provided that it doesn't break down but as usual you'll have to gradually make compromise of the graphic quality settings in order to keep up with a high refresh rate for the games in the future.
every year ujust need to lower one graphic quality or render scales!

A 1080ti preforms at the same level of a 2080S, and used 1080tis go for around 500$ for good quality, but still a 2080 will be a contender for a long time.
