3 Button mouse with no mouse wheel
Is there such a thing? I want 3 big buttons on the mouse but no wheel. Must be non-ball and have a usb connection...no old serial port or ps2 port stuff. I don't need fancy dpi or mapping software.

fyi, the wheel is also a button, used as u-scroll or auto-scroll

there are very few mice with no wheel anymore
finding one with optical sensor (not a ball mouse) and usb may be difficult

here is one on ebay

first off, thanks for your reply and I understand and am aware of the first line of your post

second, I prefer a dedicated button that is roughly the same size as the other two buttons. I've recently "disabled" some wheels by physically opening the mouse in an attempt to accomplish this and like it, but prefer that the button be a regular size.

...the reason for this being my very unusual key bindings

edit: I think I found one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Optical-3-Button-Mouse-With-Side-Scroll-Wheel-USB-3-Button-Mouse-send-mouse-pad-/302784849165

Thanks, that's the one that I was looking at and pretty much what I'm looking for.

if you want one with a good sensor your gonna have to mod a mouse

ty Harry, that one will work too. I'm no stranger to modding...I recently put (crammed) about 20 washers into a MS 2.0 Optical to add "weight" to it.

if you want to rebind buttons, look at a 5-6 button mouse
(2 side buttons used for browser fwd/back buttons)
most games can use them as extra key/buttons, m4-5 binds
(button 6 is often hard bound to dpi in the mouse)

I had a Corsair M60 but ended up never using the side buttons or the sniper as I don't snipe. I pushed the middle button so many times that eventually it wore out the switch. Since moving back to the MS 2.0 (laugh away) I've found that it is just as good for fps and I can adjust the sensitivity in game, don't need a fancy software package. I just wish it had a better middle mouse. After fiddling about I finally came to the conclusion that all I really need is a simple mouse with 3 big top buttons...

Many games require the mouse wheel, per it's bindings. Why wouldn't you want a mouse with a scroll wheel? If you need extra buttons that's what side buttons are for. Sniper and all that don't matter, make use of the extra buttons by binding them in-game.

I wouldn't recommend using a mouse without a scroll wheel these days. Just about every game has bindings to it, and some games don't have the option to set them to anything different.

It also sounds like a pain to use the keyboard instead of the mouse wheel outside of games. I see that you enjoy playing like this, but I would still consider to try thumb buttons again
Just out of curiosity, what have you binded to the middle button?

I've been using a mouse without a wheel for quite some time now and have gotten used to it, game or otherwise.

I'm just a little different I guess...same reason I still use a Blackberry Q20.

Normally I bind reload to the middle button.
