alienware aurora r8 thoughts? upgrade?

Hi Alienware currently have a big ale and im looking to order then new r8. The prices currently are on par with other pre made systems, the specs are as follows for $3299 AUD
Intel® Core™ i7 9700K , NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2080 8GB ,16GB Dual Channel DDR4 at 2666MHz,256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Boot) + 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s

Do you guys think its worth upgrading the GPU to NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2080 Ti GDDR6 For an extra $550 AUD

I want to play in Ultrawide 1440 at 100hz . Maybe a 4k monitor in the future. What do you guys think of this computer? and is the TI worth the upgrade?

It's super overpriced and ships from USA, so it's sorely jacked up for AU/NZ

As for monitor, I'd look at 1440p/165hz if going 16:9 -or- 1440p/100+hz if going 21:9

4K still is too expensive and I wouldn't buy an RTX right now as newly refreshed RTX are coming soon

For drives I'd suggest...
250-500gb m2 nvme drive
1TB m2 sata drive
2TB or larger 720prpm sata hdd, such as WD black / gold

8GB or larger usb flash drive to create your own Win10 64bit installer media

Thanks for the advice.. I allready have a 21.9 100htz monitor, might get a 4k later down the track after i get new build
for $3299 with rtx2080
or $3900 with rtx 2080ti
I cant buy a pre made same spec anywhere much cheaper, and i dont have the time or patients to build myself

Above 1440p I would get the 2080 ti.

Well I guess if you don't mind the pricing. But yes if you are even thinking of doing 4K get a 2080 Ti

But I stand by what I said about drives, that's way too space to be getting for today and moving forward. Many AAA games are 50-100+GB each having games like those on their own ssd would really help. Then use the HDD for storing all your loose files, download, music, videos...

You dont *need* a 2080ti for good quality 4k. Thats just flat out false.

Mid range 4K can be done on 1660ti or above.

Good quality (read moatly maxed with a few highs in the mix) can be had on Vega 64/Radeon VII/1080/1080ti/2070 or above.

Obly need fr 2080ti is id you want 4k with litterally *no* acceptance of anything but maxed out (including 8x or greater AA) with 75fps or greater required.

If thats the case then sure, you "need" the 2080ti.

If you just want mostly maxed and noce 4k/60 all the lusted cards for good quality above will work great.

Well if u going with something like Alienware it's only going to have a few options for things like cpu,ram, gpu selection anyways. RTX 2080 should be fine. How much price difference is it they are asking for to bump up to 2080 Ti?
