Why are people bashing Great Wall if Corsair are just rebranded Great Wall PSUs?
"Great Wall PSU's are made cheaply from Chinese manufacturers", "Walmart uses Great Wall PSUs xD, no wonder its garbage", "If you want your first PC to blow up, use a PSU from Great Wall!", "Corsair or EVGA are better PSUs then Great Wall".

This is EXACTLY what I read in the comment section when I was watching Steve at GamersNexus reviewing a Walmart PC lmao. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTni-Vfrf9c

Do people follow exactly what a TechTuber likes or dislikes blindly without research? I guess everything a person on YouTube says is 100% Gospel.

many brands do rebrand but they rebrand from actual good companies. And just look into the PSU itself and the hardware they use, then you know. Corsair rebranded a lot fpreviosly from SeaSonic for example. And not all Corsair and EVGA PSU'S are good, for EVGA it comes down to SuperNova G2/G3/P2/T2

I Wouldnt call the GQ a good PSU tbh. It might be not at a low tier but compared for its price and quality compared to the rest it kinda sucks big time.

In what way? It has the same components and features as most of the other EVGAs? 🤔 I mean you can compare all of them here https://www.custompcguide.net/evga-power-supply-units-comparison-all-series/#EVGA-G-PSU I don't know how you could miss GQ yet mention G2 and G3? 🤔😂

no not really, G2 and G3 are SuperFlower, P2 and T2 are SeaSonic and the GQ is an older FSP Design if I'm not completly mistake.

No no that's where you are wrong, G2 are older superflower units and a step back from G+ which are FSP units, GQ are manufactured by FSP

I just rechecked, I'm right with the rband and modells. G2 and G3 are SuperFlower, GQ is FSP and a step down from the old G+ modells to make it affordable. The main difference between G+ and G3 is the missing ECO mode on the G+.

PS: The fans on the GQ are often loud and it comes with 5 year warranty over the 7 years of the G3. GQ for me personally is a no-brainer. It might not be a bad PSU, but for the tenner more for a G3 -> no brainer.

There is much more to a "good" psu than just the OEM - the component selection and soldering process all play a part. Thats why the older CX were poor, the components were lower tier binned and the soldering was inconsistent (some good some bad - like Razer products lol).

AFAIK they improved on both for the new gray-label, so either the CWT or Great Wall OEM CXs are much better. Then again, I didn't watch it on youtube so WTF do I know...
Corsair IS better if you buy a higher tier from then like RMX for example and stay away from ones from them that are terrible like VS or CX series

Even the higher Tier Corsair PSUs are STILL rebranded Great Walls.

People seem to judge quality based on appearance and what their youtuber says instead of actual research and analysis.

Like someone who has already said, its about the quality of the internals aswell as how they are soldered. Brand means nothing if the thing isn't made right.

BS - no Corsair PSU is manufactrued by Great Walls:

AX-650, 750, 760, 850, 860 – Seasonic
AX-760i, 860i, 1200, 1200i – Flextronics

CX-400 – Seasonic
CX-430, 430 v2, 500, 500 v2, 600, 600 v2 – Channel Well(CWT)

Gaming Series GS600, GS700, GS800 – Channel Well(CWT)

HX-450, 520, 620, 650 – Seasonic
HX-750, 850, 1000, 1050 – Channel Well

TX-550M, 650M, 750, 750M, 850, 850M, 950 – Channel Well (CWT)
TX-650, 650 v2, 750 v2, 850 v2 – Seasonic

VX-450 – Seasonic
VX-550 – Channel Well

Only the CS and SF Series are made by Greatwall.

Very few PSU companies do own products, most likely only FSP Group, Delta, Seasonic and SuperFlower.
Everything else is just OEM. The main question is always the used capacitors and build quality. My Corsair CX used SamXon chinese caps and died inside a half year. JohnnyGURU rated it suprisingly well though. My Seasonic M II 520 now works 5 years straight.
Because it comes down to cheap crappy power supply+gpu and whatever other parts it burns up or spend $50-60 extra and not have to replace parts simple economics really i got a g3 on sale last year for $96 thats more than worth to me to not have to drop more money on replacing a gpu
Best source for PSU OEM reference: PSU review database[www.realhardtechx.com]

e.g. Corsair @ PSU database[www.realhardtechx.com] shows all versions model and OEM

Corsair CX450 review @ Tom's[www.tomshardware.com] - interestingly they found the CWT to be the better model, and the GW more than sufficient. Who would have thought?
