which RAM modules for asrock B450M-HDV mainboard

hello,

i want to buy an asrock B450M-HDV mainboard and a ryzen 5 2600 cpu. i am not sure, which ram to buy. i want 16gb(2*8gb). can u help me?

Go for anything you like, it's not like it matter that much. G.Skill Aegis or Corsair Vengeance are popular ones these days, but you can go as low as noname green ones from China as long as related comments are good.

best to use 3000+ with cl16-

I don't recommend getting anything cheaper than an ASRock B450M Pro4 because it has VRM heatsinks, better upgrade pathing due to extra features not present on the HDV board.
As for RAM, any kit will do as long as it's 3000~3200 MHz and no higher than CL16. Keep in mind that there are still rare cases of RAM incompatibilities causing POST failures, especially if the board doesn't have a later BIOS revision that patches AGESA.

thanks. i will have a look. i need a µATX board and i wanted to be sure, that i dont need a bios update for the ryzen 5 2600 to work. the pro 4 doesnt need bios update, too.

B450 is second gen AM4, so no it definitely won't need a BIOS update. Still good idea to keep BIOS up to date on AM4 boards because there's often improvements to the overall system.

Any DDR4 ram of your choosing will work, just make sure you actually use 3000MHz ram since you're using ryzen.
