Upgraded to RTX GPU but now get unstable Recordings/Live Streams using Streamlabs OBS
Upgraded to RTX GPU but now get unstable Recordings/Live Streams using Streamlabs OBS

Okay so where to start...

I have been recording/live streaming since last December using Streamlabs OBS and have had no real issue since i went through my setup settings,

I used to get a perfect native 1080p 60FPS recordings and live streams without any issues like stutters or lag etc,

I was previously using Nvidia Geforce GTX TITAN BLACK SC...

I only recently upgraded my GPU to a Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 Founder's Edition and well i went to try use SLOBS as normal with same settings to have my recordings and livestreams be pixelated and have many dropped/skipped frames, i tried to fix my settings but nothing would work so i decided to finally give the new Nvidia NVENC NEW encoder a try seem as my GPU is well supported but again after days of conscious testing i can't for the life of me get slobs stable...all i want is the same Native 1080p 60FPS i once had,

The thing is i have now went from Overwatch as the example from Ultra settings with an average 100+fps to Maxed out Epic settings with an average FPS of 200+ so safe to say i am getting the best performance i can get...turning down game settings hasn't helped my issues with Skipped/Dropped Frames...

Here's my specs

Intel Core i7 4770K
Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 Founder's Edition
16GB DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz

400MBPS Download/20MBPS Upload Fibre Optic Broadband

Before I was using the NVENC old Encoder and was getting perfect results but even trying to go back and sue older encoder doesn't seem to fix my issues so either using Old or New is working for me atm and Software Encoder is a hell no as i heavily impacts my CPU...

I have tried to use Simple as well as advance and tried CBR at 3000, 6000, 9000, and again same results great image quality but poor lost/skipped frames...I dunno how to get rid of them i have tried every suggestion i have found via YouTube and other forums with no real help, I hope someone can help me get my Setup back upto where it once was, as my YouTube channel is now in jeopardy of progressing :(

All i want is to get my settings tuned and setup and working with recording and live streaming without issues like dropped/skipped frames...

I have screenshots my settings even though they are still causing me frame skips/drops etc.

Anyone willing to help me resolve these issues i will happily reward i just badly require proper help from someone who knows this software in and out, I hope i can get some help and advice thanks in advance.

So just to summarize...No matter what settings i dial in i am getting lots of skipped frames i have checked and my CPU as well as GPU usage isn't even above 60% i dunno how to fix this, Again i was previously using Old NVenc and that used to work just fine when on my older GPU but since upgrading to my new RTX GPU i can't get New or Old NVenc to work as all i get it constant skipped frames please someone help thanks :(

UPDATE - I know this isn't the best place to go looking for support on this kind of thing but am truly in a bad place atm...

I have multiple forum threads on Linustechtips, Nvidia, Streamlabs Obs all 3 forum posts i have little to no help or advice and was shocked that i still havent heard a damn thing from Streamlabs Obs in regards to this situation.

Here are screenshots of my setting for Streamlabs OBS

https://imgur.com/a/AUgJlWW

i have tried to change CBR to the following...

CBR - 3500, 6000, 10000

Again same issues get lots of Skipped frames,

I also tried to dropped my ingame settings to lower settings as someone previously suggested but that only cause no skipped frames and higher FPS also when i checked my GPU usage i was only using 60% usage...I'm so confused how my Old TITAN Black SC using older NVenc Encoder was able to rock Native 1080p 60FPS for all that time without any issues like dropped frames skipped frames etc? :steamsad:

Here's a link to my YouTube channel so anyone willing and interested in helping can even see the quality of my Videos i had before...

I am going to continue to test out different settings until i get this working...Surely my new GPU is capable of achieving the same level of recording/live streaming as before without all these horrible skipped frames i am receiving :spycon:

It is a good place to ask for help, you just have to wait until someone with experience in such things pitches in is all.

FWIW I would try using Intel QuickSync rather than NVEC. NVEC has low overhead but it *does* still have a negative impact on the GPU performance.

You might find you get better results letting the CPU and GPU get dedicated to games, and use the iGP so encode the stream. It just sits there idle elsewise...

I only seem to have the option of X264 Intel or Nvidia NVENC Old and NVENC NEW

x264 Intel should eb the Igp.

Might also be called Intel Quick Sync or QSV

Yeah i tried but defiently only have just X264 and NVENC new and old...

I just spent the past few hours trying to enable my integrated graphics but i can't get it enabled, I tried to plugged in a HDMI cable to my tv in order to force enable it and let windows download drivers etc, also went into bios but only option i found was to switch from discrete GPU to integrated but i don't want to switch to integrated if that makes sense...I also tried to download drivers for my IGPU but none of them would install kept getting the message not supported :steamfacepalm:

anyways i've wasted too much time today on trying to enable IGPU so gonna c=focus on getting slobs working with my GPU it worked over the past year on my previous less power GPU sp dont see how my new RTX 2070 can't work, anyone got any ideas or fancy helping me drop me a message here or pm me as i said if anyone can actually help me figure this out i am willing to reward such person :lunar2019piginablanket:

what mobo?
many oem will disable the intel hd when a dedicated gpu is installed

Okay i figured what was the fault!...Again Nvidia can go F*** themselves, isn't it bad enough over the past few months we've had unstable drivers and unstable updates through support for A-Sync and of course my fault i've had just now there new nvenc...

Yes Nvidia's new NVENC is the culprit fault, no matter how low i turned the settings down in my game or how high i was always average 200+ FPS and CPU/GPU usage was around 60% as i thought it was...i think the new Encoder has major issues as when i jumped back to experiment with the older NVENC after changing from 3500 CBR to 6000 my skipped frames issues were gone!

Nvidia and Streamlabs OBS has some serious work to do with that new Encoder because it performs horrible on RTX 2070, just my experience though only tried every combination of settings possible sadly the thing performs horrible, I hope they can fix it and definitely not remove the older NVENC as its indeed the saving grace in this situation...:steamfacepalm:
