Way to temporarily disable psu fan?
My psu is making a very faint rattling/ cracklings noise. I want to disable the psu fan temporarily so I can see what’s making the noise. Thanks.

Simply stop with with a screw driver. Don't push the screw driver in to the actual PSU, that is very dangerous.

IMHO, for safety reasons, even if you can see what's wrong in the PSU, unless you are a qualified technician, you've got no business going inside a PSU.

It's the only truly dangerous part of a PC.

The capacitors still hold a charge even after its unplugged.

Best regards,

This. Though honestly can anyone tell me why it’d be necessary to stop the PSU fan from operating immediately after a power down when the point of having that fan temporarily on is to cool off the PSU?

Also this. The residual charge can be very fatal. It’s almost as dangerous as having to get inside a Macintosh Plus.
