AMD FX 4130 3.8 OC to 4.2 + GTX 1050ti 4gb FPS problem
Good day peeps,
Today I changed my setup from i3 3220 to AMD mentioned above and I am experiencing some troubles - my fps never goes higher than 60 (why??) and I am experiencing stuttering/lags/fps drops quite often. Before overclocking it was even worse. Thanks for any tips or help guys, take care.

PC specs:
Mother: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. 970A-UD3P
CPU: AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core OC from 3.8 to 4.2
RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 669MHz
GRAPHICS: S27F350 (1920x1080@60Hz), 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (Gigabyte)

Gee, I don't know... Maybe it's because the new CPU you bought is slower?? And by slower I mean a lot.... And this is exactly why you do research before you decide to spend money upgrading a computer.

I did not spend anything thank god, the only reason I took it was motherboard is better and AMD itself can be overclocked to beat i3. After a little research I found out that most people who run AMD fx 4130 does not experience any fps problems, tbh most of them are moaning about 100-200fps so cmon, this made me very confused :) if i wont be able to fix this ill just go back to my i3 with old asrock mother till I'll buy 8th series AMD FX. But I would still like to try sort this 4130 out

Well the CPU is literally just a small portion of the computer. If they are getting more FPS then you, maybe it's because they aren't bottlenecking. They probably paired a better GPU to go with that slow CPU so the CPU isn't maxed at 80-90 usage while the GPU is stuck below 50 percent usage. And why are you spending money to still be in the bulldozer lineup of CPU's? Honestly, they are all slow and outdated CPU's. You should save up for a better CPU, like a Ryzen or an newer intel CPU.

FX CPU's are pretty mcuh all trash. The FX-8350 is ok'ish btu still otuclassed by CPU's from the same or prevois generations from Intel.

TBH. to buy a FX-8350 is a hgue waste of money.

PS: With the right motherbaord youc an overclocl an i3-3220 aswell.

Decided, tomorrow after work I'm rebuilding my PC back to i3, thanks guys
I have a sixcore AMD FX6300, when it went to me was a 1.5ghz processor, today is current 3.5ghz. Then, you must to free your processor frequencies upgrade on bios setup on CPU options settings and set available all cores in auto mode. On the case of speed, I beleave this solve your problem, also you already have 8gb of memory so no buffer lacking is there.

Well my default it's going to be on what ever frequency or boost frequency it comes with. It shouldn't come to the consumer underclocked. So someone must had messed with your BIOS settings to have caused that.
the i3 is a step forward from fx
it is clocked slower, but it has much higher ipc (instrucions per clock)

games depend on higher core performance

but imho, look for a newer i5 or i7 office pc
4th and newer gen i5/i7 can be found around here for about $100

if you are stuck at 60fps, it may be due to vsync, if enabled or adaptive you will be capped at your monitors refresh rate
Tbh i3 3xxx or FX4xxx the GTX1050ti is a bottleneck to nowheres ville

What you should have done was swap an i7 3770 into your i3 3220 PC.

Some games ^ you need more CPU horsepower and others not so much, anyway to put it into context the GTX980ti is about par with the GTX1070
