60fps on 60hz moniter vs 120fps on 60hz moniter
basically the title
Will there be a difference to the human eye if i cap my frame rate at 60 or 120?

at a higher fps you will see more tear lines
2x monitor hz = 2 tear lines

60fps with vsync on will not leave any tear lines
60fps with vsync off will have 1 tear line
120 fps on 60 Hz

You ll not see smoothness

That happen to me on csgo but as im poor ,i have to deal with It

will you be garanteed to see the tear lines? cause my frame rate is capped at 120 on fortnite and my moniter refresh rate is 60 but i never see tear lines

Do you play with low sensibilty?

If you have high sensibilty and you move your Moisés to left /right you ll see the tears, with low sensibilty ,you mayor not see the

if its a consistent 120fps, the tear lines will be in the same places
so, yes more noticeable

basically, display full frame, vsync on
latest parts of frames, vsync off

But I never seem to see screen tearing when its a consistant 120fps

depends on the scene and how much difference there is between the frames

grass hides the tear, but the path and trees show it very well

You'll only get tearing if it goes out of sync, for me when playing on my TV and not the gsync monitor on my other pc I find tearing to be frustrating as hell, but not as much as the delay vsync adds (I got lucky and my TV has a comparable input delay to a 4k monitor, lucky because it wasn't even a consideration when I chose it).

For me, I find it less of an issue and less noticeable at above 60fps, as the tearing when it drops down below seems far worse, for this reason I tend to play at 1440p over 4k in more demanding games.

You are not able to see past 60fps on a 60Hz display! You're better off turning up your graphic settings higher until you are close to 60fps (or atleast until all graphic settings are max).
So if i have 120 fps 60 Hz my Game wont be smooth?

not as smooth as if it was 120hz on a 120hz monitor

You will have an improvement in input lag, and smoothness.

You wont physically see more fps, but you will partially see the benefits of it.
(If you dont believe me, try it yourself before commenting, because ive played 150fps on a 60hz for years, and 60 fps was slugish, and felt like dirt.)

If you cant see tearing (or not notice if), dont mind slightly worse graphics settings, then you will have a smooth exeprience, much smoother than 60@60hz.
