Low FPS in all games suddenly, all games are unplayable!
I don't know when it started. I remember playing Fallout 4 a month or so ago once and it works fine. Then I try playing one of my other games a n=month later and the fps is so low it's unplayable! I know for a fact I had the minimum requirements, or else the games wouldn't have worked before. I don't know what to do. I updated my graphics, I ran a security scan to make sure it wasn't malware that was the issue, I'm out of options.

My specs (if I leave anything out it's either because I don't know how to find it or I lack the knowledge, this information might as well be in Arabic, I can't understand it):

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8300H CPU @ 2.30Hz

8.00 GB of ram

64-bit operating system

Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

Demanding games aren't going to run above 20-30 fps on that laptop, period.

If it was at least playable a month ago then something did slow it down. If you scanned for viruses and nothing is there then maybe a setting in the game got changed. Like maybe it bumped anti-aliasing up or something. Try dropping the settings and see if it gets better.

put on the lowest possible graphics settings, the game still has low fps. I might just need a better computer

Try re-installing the game?. Might lose saves or whatever, but maybe it will help.

dang. Maybe Windows updated and buffed something up. What is the system usage info from task manager?. Like right now at idle what's your cpu usage? or ram usage? or disk usage?.

Reinstalling a steam game isn't needed, if that was the issue the game would fail to launch or crash after loading game world.

Verify game cahe is all that is needed. Doing this for Fallout 4 though will reset the config file. You can avoid that by setting the two config files for fo4, located within Documents folder structure to read only.

Make sure OSis updated but also check Windows Update history and see if any updates in the past few days or weeks amd Google their KB# to see what they do as a WU is possibly the cause of the problems too. Update ALL Your drivers.

maybe you have an os issue. you can get rid of it, when you reinstall windows. then all drivers. with this you can be sure that there is no software issue. what the problem is on your system, i cant say, but a clean, new, windows must work..imho.

is it possible that my computer just downgraded a graphics drive randomly? i use an Acer Nitro, a newer one at that, and for some reason it can't do what it was designed to do suddenly.

Disable Windows ability to handle drivers.

Do it with the DDU app for ease of use. When u load up DDU go to options and enable what's not enabled and change the option where it gives you an option for safe mode, so that is also enabled. Then click ok or close the options and then the app and relaunch it again. Now select safe mode and restart options.

Once in safe mode click the option there in lower right to disable Windows driver feature. Then select gpu > intel, clean and restart.

Once in Windows normal mode, now install the latest for the following, from INTEL

Chipset
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28182/Chipset-INF-Utility
*extract and then run the setup.exe from the folder. Reboot once install has completed.

Graphics
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29127/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers?product=126790
*download the 1910.1007372.exe run to install, reboot when install completes.
