if the board has vrm heatsinks it will be fine as long as there is airflow over them
if using a clc or water loop, mount a fan over the cpu block to keep airflow over the vrm hatsnks
My advice is to if you are worried about temperatures, ensure your cooling strategy will include highly variable peaks if you are just not comfortable with what people have reported. You may be forging ahead into unknown territory.
To that end, maybe get blower or a fan to mount over the VRM, if you are not directly intending to replace the VRM heatsink with something custom. I've industrial velcro'd a 40mm fan over my VRM, which actually is water cooled. However, the components around the VRM are not directly benetitting from this, and the airflow movement helps a great deal in reducing the temperature disparity in the area.
I also added a number of small copper and aluminum heatsinks (tall and short, mulipronged and finned, depending on the situation and my airflow orientation). These can help, too.
But I have the same issue. There's no direct answer I could find for what works best, so I had to figure out some of it myself. It'll change, too, if you upgrade the CPU later to something with a higher TDP, so keep that in mind.

cpu socket sensors are common (temp sensor under the cpu socket)
The thing is that “ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F Gaming” is on a cashback promotion right now, that's why I'm tempted to buy it.
You cant really go wrong with a good asus motherbord.
May I ask, how long you have been using this motherboard?
Is the PCI-E slot's lock/retention clip is made of low quality materials?because some people have reported that it got broken with them.
Hahahaha, i just decided to go with Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO because it got better and high quality VRMs.
