I need a new Cooler for Ryzen 7 3700x
Hey
As mentioned in the title i need a new Cooler for my Ryzen 7 7300x
My Budget is around 70Euro (+-30)
I've got already a "Cooler" but my CPU is getting Hot and Loud.
It sounds like I'm starting a plane and its getting hot like 80°c
The Boxed Cooler is also not an Option xP

I want a Cooler which is Silent and can bring down the temperature of my CPU.
I've found some Coolers on the Internet but I can't decide which one I should Choose.
I don't need RGB stuff or smth like this it just needs to be Silent and Cool.

It would be nice if anyone could help me out.
(and Sorry for my Bad English xD)

My Components are:
▪ AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8x 3.60GHz
▪ Graphic Card : MSI GTX 1660Ti
▪ Mainboard: MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI
▪ CPU-Cooler :Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L RGB
▪ RAM : 16GB Corsair Vengeance
▪ Case : Carbide Clear 400C

Silent? be quiet dark rock pro 4.
dark rock pro 4

and

noctua nh-u12a
noctua nh-d15
noctua nh-d15s
80C with 240mm radiator AIO... are you sure the pump is actually working or thermal paste is applied properly?
the cm clc coolers are not very good, but should be better than that

So the cooler that came with the Ryzen 7 3700x was not sufficient enough at keeping things cool and quiet. Reminds me of the AMD FX 8350 or similar that had to have a special separate cooler because of high heat output.

No wait! It was the 9590 that was "extra spicy". No wonder 3rd gen Ryzen was such a big deal for AMD.

Ryzen 7 3700X is 65W CPU, should run quite ok even with included Prism cooler and like OP said he is using 240mm radiator AIO instead, makes me think that something is off with the build.

4th gen doesn't exist lol It's only up to 3rd gen.

I've used the same cooler with the 2700X before, it was almost as bad as this. Hence why I don't own it anymore and don't buy AIOs from CM anymore. They're louder and not any better than the competition.

So what's wrong with using the stock cooler that came with the CPU? Could that be why they're using a different cooler? I have a Ryzen 5 3600 (65W) myself that of course uses the stock cooler but my only guess is that OP could be overclocking.
Well excuse me for getting my generations mixed up. :steamfacepalm:

3700X should be fine with the Wraith Prism because it only uses 90W under full load (65W TDP =/= Power usage, AMD bases their TDP off of heat and not pure power draw) and the Wraith Prism is more or less designed to take care of ~105W of heat.

Zen2 has been a bit toastier with R7 and R9 because of 7nm lithography resulting in more focused heat in the package, as there are more transistors in an even smaller area on the die.
None of AMD's stock coolers are really enough for Ryzen 9, as evident that the 3900X uses well over 105W at full load, and from personal experience, it can reach the low 70s while gaming, depending on the CPU load.
When Intel drops to 10nm, expect similar issues with heat with the i7s and i9s, as the smaller the lithography, the more focused the heat is.

Dark Rock Pro 4 is the better choice.
Nuff said
3700X can get pretty hot especially with PBO on. Wraith Prism is quite noisy to be honest.
I’ve heart some people reporting CM ML240 has some mounting pressure problem with AM4, resulting in high temps.
Normally a 240 mm AIO should keep 3700X with PBO on below 80C even during very heavy work load (except power bugs such as Prime95).
If OP have to get a new cooler, I recommend Noctua NH–D15S. It has excellent motherboard and RAM compatibility, performs slightly better than DRP4, roughly on par with 240 mm AIO.
So just looking at the specs alone is not enough to know how much power is drawn to power the CPU. How misleading for the average consumer. You actually have to go look up separate charts online. For example the Ryzen 5 3600 has three different charts showing power consumption watt. 62W for system idle, 99W for single thread load, and finally 132W for multithread load. https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/amd-ryzen-5-3600-review,7.html Of course all of that is based on other components in your system so the numbers can vary with the motherboard used and PSU efficiency. The max temp the Ryzen 5 3600 can reach with the stock cooler is 72C. So 65W is TDP?

Scythe Mugen 5 Rev B can be had for under $50, and the Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO for $40...

The pump is working, Thermal paste got twice changed.
This AiO sounds more like a Starting Airplane which is in Idle loud and while playing louder.

Does this even fit in my Case?
I've seen a Video between DRP4 and this NH–D15S and the DRP4 was more quiet on Heavy Load. But still it sounds like a good choice.

Atm I'm not Overclocking, its still on Stock settings and it is going over 80°c
And TheStock-Cooler is also very Loud while playing.
