Which CPU cooler?
So been doing a lot of upgrades to my PC.
First cpu/memory/motherboard - MSI B450 tomahawk/ R5 3600X CPU / Gskill FlareX 2 x 8GB Cl14 memory
Then upgraded my case cooling 4 x 140mm corsair ML + x 2 120mm corsair ML fans.
All working well and the airflow is good.

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 ti aoris
PSU: antec 850W high current gamer.
The gpu outputs to a 2560x1080 144hz gsync monitor
Case:
I was hoping the CPU would not fairly quiet but as I want the best performance out of it so it seems I need a CPU cooler. The motherboard temperatures as expected are very good I assume to the case cooling.

there are two CPU coolers I have in mind.

This: Thermaltake Riing Silent 12 Pro
https://www.thermaltake.com/C_00002931.htm?id=C_00002931

or

This: Coolermaster hyper 212 led turbo

https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coolers/cpu-air-coolers/hyper-212-led-turbo/

I have been trying to find out specific info but have had issues.

Firstly when the fans eventually wear out can they be replaced by a standard 120mm 4 pin fans. Obviously if I do will invest in good ones.

Also i am unsure about RAM clearance. I want to orient the cooler so air is flowing out of the back of the case with the fans parallel to the memory sticks. I think most air coolers do it that way.

Will either of these coolers fan go over the RAM. The slot closest to the CPU is not populated now but would like the option later on if needed.

Here is a link to the memory I have if useful

https://www.gskill.com/product/165/170/1535961634/F4-3200C14D-16GFXFlare-XDDR4-3200MHz-CL14-14-14-34-1.35V16GB-(2x8GB)

I am not interested in a liquid cooler.

So if on both fans if the fans are easily replaceable and no ram issues then does anyone know which has better cooling?

noctua d15s gives the best performance without having to worry much abt ram clearance

I want the red/back theme of the coolers I suggested. Also noctua is above my budget. It is for a gaming machine so do not need anything too high end.

unable to get that model or at least soon as time is kind of an issue also.

This dont have sufficient ram clearance if you use tall ram, like corsair dominator. Beautiful cooler tho
Idk what cooler comes with the 3600x but ive been using the stock cooler on my 3700x and its been just fine you really shouldnt need more for a 6 core

3700x comes with the Wraith Prism.
3600x comes with the Wraith Spire.

The Wraith Prism is a bit better than the Spire, ~5C-10C cooler in most cases on a Ryzen 2600.

Fine for all the g.Skill RAM sticks, it`s specifically designed with step in the second heatsink and higher mounted fan to have RAM clearance.

Use default cooler and spend money somewhere else, or save it. Unless it adds fps it doesnt matter, and the default one is plenty ok

Considering modern CPU's get very hot that's terrible advice. A stock cooler cannot sufficiently cool under heavy load, meaning the CPU will throttle it's speed as to not overheat effectively loosing you FPS in the process.

Cools just fine on mine these arent the dinky little coolers from 10 years ago
I got the Coolermaster Hyper 212 LED Turbo. Installing tomorrow.
It should be more than enough for my needs.
Included fans it seems can be replaced by 120mm ones eventually.
I am looking at long term - 5+ years for my setup.
Obviously upgrade storage/memory/GPU when needed. Probably a new PSU when warranty expires.
For long term then good cooling is needed to maximise lifespan of components. The best thing as I see it is I can get another compatible CPU if needed & worth it.
You know that the Hyper 212 Evo is about the same performance as AMD's Stock Cooler?
You literally spender all the money against all advice for no improvement at all. But hey that's your money.

The lifespan increase you get by better cooling while bot overclocking is pretty much non-existant. At least you look at a difference of maybe 21 years instead of 20 years. A time where you would upgrade before.

There better ways you can decrease temperature like fixed voltage.

It's an AMD stock cooler, not an Intel stock cooler. The Wraith Spire is just behind the 212 EVO, while the Prism is literally dead equal. I would know, because I tested the 212 EVO against the Prism.

idk, this guy puts almost the stuff in OP, spire vs the led, stripped one of the fans and shows a significant difference still.
