What's a good cheap motherboard for the Xeon X5650

I'm looking for a good cheap motherboard for an Intel Xeon X5650, it needs to support 16gb ddr3 ram, and a 1060 6gb, also heatsink suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are there any new motherboards that are compatible with those specs ? I just don't want to buy a used morherboard that has been HWID banned in any game .

Unfortunately I would trust an old / used board than the gluttony of fake / ultra low quality versions that are out on the market ( e.g. the “corn” brand), just not worth it IMHO...

You can buy complete used pc's on ebay for less than $200 with twice the performance of that xeon.

that cpu is over 9 years old, save up for a new cpu/mobo/ram
the new quads are alot faster adn lighter on power

for gaming teh first gen i5/i7/xeon have been way too slow for a few years

i agree with hawkeye, for around $100-200 you can easily find a 4th gen i5/i7/xeon build that will be as fast or faster

I just need a computer that can run a 1060 6gb without bottle necking , I need 16gb of ddr3 I just want to run rust at max settings 1080p 60fps

A friend got a Xeon x5650 and a 1060 6gb but he can run gta 5 and rust max settings 60 fps no lag or problems , that's all I want , I'm trying to build one for £350 Max

Damn , it's just so cheap and from the YouTube videos I have watched it's not that bad , thank you for the advice I will have to rethink what I'm going to do .

the lowest i would go is for ryzen 2xx is a 4xx chipset board with 4 dimm slots and atleast 1 m.2 slot for ssd
6 sata ports is a better idea since many will disable 1-2 when the m.2 is populated

Why not get B450 and Ryzen 5 2600 or something used instead? Price pretty similar?

As for Rust performance varies a lot depending on terrain and what's going on.

Xeon's are server/workstation chips, they are more expensive than i7's or i5's and give worse performance in games.

You can't find a motherboard because they are few and far between, with features you don't need and won't use, like ECC memory.

That chip is also 10 years old, vulnerable to meltdown. Don't bother with it.
