you can keep gfe installed to let you know when a new driver is available, but 90+% of the time its not necessary
Many times they break things, so don't fix what isn't broken. Sure patch is nice from time to time, but its no rush for most users.
Right now though, for nvidia, if you have gtx 700 series or later... use the very latest driver. It plugs many security holes and is more stable compared to last few driver releases. 430xx ones are quite bad
Yes, that was in the release notes, not sure if its actually exploited in a wild yet though, but most of the time its mostly new title fixes.
