Buy a new drive, an ssd at that.

Drops can easily kill mechanical hdds, which is what occurred.

You'll need to also go onto a working pc and make your own Win10 64bit usb flash drive so u can install your OS back on new drive

I got SSD and HDD installed, so I dont think i would need to install my OS back would I? Because SSD is working fine

I may add that, at first HDD was still working after the drop, only the noise was there and nothing else was wrong with it.

Replace the hdd. Again I'd just suggest an ssd, as 1tb 2.5 inch ssd are not that much.

But yea least it wasn't the os drive is one way to look at all of this

How difficult would it be to replace it by myself? I never had experience with electronics

Usually just open the bottom of the laptop and swap the drive out, not hard.

Look for a disesembly guide on youtube for your laptop.

Once the new drive is installed, and anything you had to open is closed and secured, boot into windows, go to disk management and format the new drive

But ssd 1 has the os and apps. If you want enough room for downloads, pictures, videos, games, then u might want a larger secondary drive.

What size was the old hdd, and do u feel that size was enough?

I do not store too many things on my HDD, couple of games and some pictures. Currently i had occupied about 100GB on the hard drive so i guess 500GB should be plenty for the 2nd drive.

And also, another issue was overheating for me... Now considering i will be replacing the HDD i would be voiding the warranty may as well ask what can I do about overheating? I would play like 1 match of CSGO or other demanding games like Skyrim with 4K texture mods etc and CPU and GPU would be on very high temperatures, definitely above C80+

Then sure, wd blue 500gb 2.5 inch would be good choice. Good pricing also.

Limit the fps and it shouldn't overheat as lower fps will reduce stress on cpu and gpu and usually result in lower temps.

Dont put the laptop on any soft surface. Helps to have it on a hard flat surface and if possible, elevated as well.

How old is the laptop? If under warranty you could have msi do the work but you most likely have to ship them your laptop.

You don't void the warranty by replacing drives or ram.

Its only one month old and been pretty damn annoying if im honest. If i had to recommend a laptop for someone, this wouldnt be it for sure... Considering the screen is 120Hz but the laptop is overheating often times it means i cant even push the laptop to like half of its capabilities because i would have to play on lower Fps and on games like CSGO it makes a difference.

I was thinking of sending it to MSI but they would just install another HDD and the process would take a long time so maybe it would be the best to just get a SSD.

Issue is, i bought it from Box.co.uk and they most definitely would not refund me full price because i returned one laptop before after a week use and got 14% deducted for a small scratch which i didnt even do, however i didnt have proof so there was nothing i could do... The reason why i even returned the previous laptop was because RAM was not specified properly, it said its 8GB but didnt mention that its 2 of 4GB so i went and bough another 8GB card for no reason. Also i found this laptop on big sale so i thought may as well get this one...
