Looking For Better Cooling
Okay, so I'm more than in a bad predicament. My cooler just doesn't seem to get the job done anymore (it's not broken or anything, but it's just not keeping it cool enough). My specs are below, what should I save up for? For the record, moving to a new case is pretty much out of the question; the reason being is taking everything out of the computer and putting it back in would end up with something broken with my 'expertise' (as in, my -35% expertise. I used 'expertise' as a nice way to call myself a computer dunce).
[Case]
iBuypower ARC 647 CASE ATX Mid Tower Case
[Op System]
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
[CPU Model]
Intel Core i7 7700K @ 4.20GHz
Kaby Lake 14nm Technology
[RAM models]
16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1066MHz (15-15-15-36)
[Motherboard]
MSI Z270 TOMAHAWK ARCTIC (MS-7A68) (U3E1)
[Monitor]
HP S2031 (1600x900@60Hz)
[GPU/Graphics Card Model]
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (EVGA)
[Storage]
2794GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA300 (SATA )
[Optical Drives]
ASUS DRW-24F1ST c
ASUS DRW-24F1ST c
[Audio]
NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)
[Power Supply]
High Power HPL-800BR-F14S ATX 800W Switching Power Supply PSU 115-230V 50-60Hz

I'm not sure what fits my case, what would need a higher power supply, the such. As said before, I am a technical dunce. But, I CAN get a different cooler in.

Secondly, what kind of thermal paste would be recommended? My father (I still live with my parents due to severe mental issue hindrances) swears by Arctic Silver 5, but I'm not so sure waiting 200 hours is the greatest of them all; but as specified before, it could be VERY, VERY true, and I could just be, for lack of a better word, dumb.

I can get the cooler info later, we don't entirely know as of this moment, but I know the fan is a Raidmax, but an older version with the blue swirl logo in the middle. However, the first pump it had died, when I had it built, so we had to change that. We're still searching for the order form to get complete info.

Since your case does support water cooling I would recommend refrigerator cooling.... BUT this does require you to remove your mother board from your computer. Honestly I would also recommend NOT building. As I have done this in the past, trying to take the cheap way out. In the end it ended up costing me a ton of time, money, and headache. It seems like you and me are in the same head space, we both want to call ourselves computer experts but aren't. It's NEVER a bad thing to ask someone more experienced then you for help. Save yourself the trubble bro, because if your fan is going out just because of a bump, how long unitll your whole PC goes out?

I would say talk to Cyber Power PC, they have a 3 year warranty on their work plus lifetime tech support. Plus, they do sell afordable gaming PC's. something to consitter in the future.

I won't be really 'coming into money' for a very long time, so in the meantime, should I just switch to a high power fan cooling system, or am I just SOL?

Edit: I mean money for a new PC, not a part. A part I can do.

iBuypower = means stock cooler & crappy power supply. Next time you might also take very basic measure to not buy anything from them.

Any well reviewed air cooler will do, with 120mm fan, CoolerMaster, BeQuiet, Gelid Solutions, Arctic, Noctua and BeQuiet are my recommendations.

Stick the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO air cooler in there and that should be enough, provided your case has clearance for 160mm high heatsink. Decent thermal paste comes with it in the box.

The question is, how high your temperature is (below 90C you dont have to worry). The next question is about your budget for a cooler and what you try to achieve.

Top of the line coolers are "Noctua NH-D15" and "BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4". They are on par with High End 280mm AiO Water Coolers. Water Coolers below that will make no sense.

For budget use the "Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo" or the cheaper "LC-95" will do fine. Otherwise the "Cyrorig H7" will be worth as the middle below 50$.

For AiO it pretty much comes down to Corsair Pro Line which doesnt use Asetek pumps anymore. NZXT Kraken is on par but the fans do terrible suck and they cost nearly twice.

I'm just wondering if I'd even be ABLE to run the 'BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro', with everything stated in my specs, seeing how it's 400 wats. I BELIEVE my power supply is only around 800, so maybe I should just get the budget choice, and self install. I play a lot of high end games though, such as Paladins (which might be a free game, but runs my CPU hotter than lava sometimes), Shadow of War, ARK on and off, Mafia 3, those types of 'really big triple A games'. Would it be able to cool it enough for that?
Edit: Now I read elsewhere it's 250W. I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ confused, and even more so stupid. Especially stupid for talking without doing further research.
Edit 2: Better question. If I use the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, do you think it'll keep my computer cool enough to play said games until around the end of December? My apologies for the double edit, I'm just weighing my options.

Also, question about the 'ibuypower' thing (which I can agree, one of my USB ports haven't been usable since the creation of the damn computer because the case covers part of it) statement. If I were to look into having a computer built for me, would there be a cheaper and/or better way of going about it? I just kind of found their computer building selector easy to use; but then again, for 1,600 dollars, they did a pretty crappy ass job at working on it (such as the bad cooler in the beginning that we replaced, actually allowing me to get a AiO that my case wasn't set up for, BLOCKING AN ENTIRE USB I PAID FOR), and honestly, if they even just do a slightly better job at computer building, I'd be more than happy to switch over to whatever you'd recommend.

I had my 7700K OC'ed to 5.5GHz while I also ahd a GTX 1080 Ti. I only cam close to 400W Powerdraw in P95 load.
Depsite the fact you have a low quality PSU. Even a 550W PSU will do fine for you. YOu PSU actually performs efficiency-wise terrible as you not come close to to the efficiency peak with that overkill wattage.

A Cooler will not draw more then 10W. Thats the least problem you have to worry about. 250W on a cooler means that it has a cooling performance of 250W TDP. The heat output is measured in Watt. The i7-7700K has a TDP of 95W. so you theoretically can cool with that cooler 2x i7-7700K.

Palading is hardly a high end game nor is it really CPU demanding. YOu dont need a high end cooler for being able to play games. You need it if you want a lower temperature (below 90C it has no effect on performance or longlivity).
the only real reason you need high High End Cooling solutions is when you intend to heavily overclock as it will be temperature limited. But espacially for the 7700K thats the point where you should consider CPU modifications (delidding, die lapping, custom IHS, IHS sanding) that can lower temps by 15-35% depending on the modifaction setup and quality.

You should tell us just how hot your CPU gets? If it keeps under, say 85~90 degrees, than you don't really need a better cooler.
Sorry for the long wait, just woke up. It gets up to 93, on games like Borderlands 2, however, we just put in Arctic Silver 5 last Monday (the one before this week.)
