Did windows get rid of the option to hide devices in device manager? Windows 10
I'm trying to hide the devices that are currently disabled because Windows keeps trying to select them even though they are disabled, and they still show up as option on the sound settings. I just need to know where I can hide disabled devices in Windows now.

Just right click the blank area within playback devices and untick box for "Show disconnected devices"

Overall it shouldn't matter either way as this is simply for user side viewing purposes only.

Well what else can I do to stop the disabled devices from being selected?

Can you share an example or video? I've never seen that be a problem as long as the device is disabled as opposed to left uninstalled.

Are you hot-plugging devices that you sometimes like to use as a default device?

What devices are you disabling?

One thing to note is, stop using the Windows Troubleshooter, as this will reenable any disabled devices. Something advanced users shouldn't need to use.

My bluetooth headphones has two modes, one that is supposed to be for phone calls, and if I have to disconnect and reconnect them for some reason a lot of the time it will choose the wrong mode. I've disabled this mode in device manager, ever since the last update disabling this mode doesn't seem to be the way to stop windows from picking this particular device. It's rather annoying to have to manually select the right mode after restarting the headset. It's rather obvious that it's own phone call mode because the audio quality compared to the other is terrible. I also apparently have the same problem with my microphone, though I have no idea why it has two modes.

Not much you can do there, as everything for the device comes back upon plugging it in, or reconnecting it again wirelessly. So yes in that case, something extra for it can't stay disabled the way you wish.

All I could suggest is using a different headset that wouldn't offer such options.

The weird thing is, it used to work differently. Disabling the headphones options seemed to disable them permanantly. At least I never got the switch over when I connected my headphones again the next morning.
