Acer Predator XB1 XB241YU anti-glare coating question (Full Monitor code: XB241YUbmiprz)

Concerning its parameters it seems to be best monitor for me, but I have repeatedly red, that its coating is really grainy, (?) destroying the 1440 resolution for text. As my first and only HD monitor is a TV version Samsung T24A350, it may even be LESS grainy for me. But I have nothing to compare. Can any owner of the Acer Predator XB1 XB241YU post a high res Photo of 10*10 cm white background with black text on this monitor? (DSLR please, mobile phone may not capture it correctly)

I've heard this complaint from people that use the AOC Agon AG241Q. (It's the same panel as your monitor, just an older version.)

But I've never seen the complaint about the XB241YU, or the S2417DG (Another one that uses the EXACT same panel as yours.)

I can't say I have any issues with text or 'film grain' effect on my Dell S2417DG.
I would assume that AU Optronics are the ones that coat the panel, so it should be the same for all of them.

S2417DG has got indeed other coating than ACER with the same panel.

I have now finally seen this Acer/Agon panel type (27" version) in store.... It is even worse, than described. You dont feel the 1440 resolution at all. Spots of higher/lower brightness everywhere, a feeling like grease spots under the antiglare coating foil. The foil itself is "sparkling" because of giant grains (which also slightly split light into rainbow colors too), if feels like text moves, if you slightly move head during reading. It has much pixel and higher density than my 12 years old 1080 screen, BUT the between-pixel-distance is higher too, making mee see black lines at usual view distance. Suddenly color banding of Dell S2417DG doesnt seem to be such a big problem, if everything else works (.

As for the colour banding on the S24 (not present on later revisions of the S27 though), depending on how bad it is on your monitor, it can be fixed for the most part by tinkering with NVCP settings.
You can still see it in lower bitrate like Netflix or Youtube sometimes. But not enough to go "what in the ♥♥♥♥, I actually cant watch this......"

Just my opinion, but i gave up trying to read text on websites (black on white) after 2 minutes. The problem was, that "grains" were too strongly distiguishable and bigger than pixels, leading to certain pixel appearing under other grains when you moved head. It must be considered, that my sight power (visus) is much higher than 100 % and I see such things TOO clear. You CANT understand this quality of picture, if you didnt see it by yourself life tested on any website in native screen resolution.
