Most people who haven’t used either just repeat what those reviews on YouTube say who used Sound Blaster cards using SBX mode using the virtual surround etc... for gaming. SBX isn’t suited to listening to music too, that’s what direct mode is for. Direct mode works just like any other DAC... every special effect is turned off and then it comes down to DAC quality, a cheap DAC isn’t going to compete with a high end DAC.
I've used both the AE-5 and G6, yes in direct mode, and I don't like them for music. IMO, they sound too sanitary and have no "soul". Especially with the audio produced today, it makes a lot of music just straight up hurt my ears (besides a lot of it just being terrible music LOL).
It doesn't always come down to the DAC. There are so many other factors... and, like I said before, the biggest factor of all... YOUR EARS! :O
Seriously, audio is subjective.
As for hurting ears, that's down to either cheap headphones or having volume to loud. The G6 headphone amp sounds superb with my DT 1990 Pro's.
lol you're looking at this like it is a battle of "I have this!" or "I have that!", but that simply isn't the case. Please don't start that on this thread.
Audio is subjective. That is fact. With that, and the fact that there are different use cases, you cannot simply say one is best for everyone.
We both know you're only saying the AE-5 and G6 are bad because of your problem with me in the past. It was about a year ago wasn't it? That's just silly. What happens if I had a 8K DAC? Would that be bad with your EARS too???? LOL Not one review says the G6 sound quality is bad or anything like anything what you described it as, so cut the crap. The only negative Sound Blasters usually get is software related, but that depends on the users PC's, not Creative. I've never had any issues with Sound Blaster Connect 2 software.
If you really did own them and have used them, you could provide proof... Just saying...
I've never said they're the best out there, but they sound so good for the price, it's hard to warrant to spend extra cash on something else that might only be slightly better.
You keep saying audio is subjective, so be quite and respect what I say. I don't want another 100+ page battle with you.
You want people to be quiet and respect what you say, but yet half of what you say is just you bragging about your money and all of the expensive hardware and peripherals you claim to own. Not going to happen when you've done the opposite of what you ask of others, but I guess you think that's not the case because an elitist can't see passed their own ego. (Shocker, you act like an elitist and Elite is in your Steam IGN.)
last time it was already funny enough when he said you cant have good sound below 130dB...
He said below 130dB everything will just sound awfull... you cant get good sound with 70-90dB...
he said he is the elitist ebcause he can afford to listen everythign at 130dB+ and we are not :D
This guy clearly has no idea what he is talking about and certainly not what 130dB are :D
I won't act like I know, because I don't. Sound technology is pretty beyond me still because I haven't experimented with audio devices of higher calibre that audiophiles prefer yet.
well dB is the rating how how loud a sound is. 130dB is about the level of a plane jet engine. If you need the loudness of jet engine to get clear and good sound and say you cant have clear and good sound and low noice level then... well make your own mind
Another perfect example.... Another guy who holds a grudge from a topic a week ago....
Where have I bragged in this thread about money or anything? I haven't. I just gave advice to someone asking for help about a product I own.
While we're on the subject, let's get this straight. There's no claims about anything I say I own, I have all the pictures of my stuff on my profile, so quit saying that.
I never said that, quit with the lies. Jesus, are you still mad cause I said TV's are no good for PC use? Get over it already.
