Will a Ryzen 5 1600x bottleneck an RTX 2070 Super?
I want to upgrade from my 1060 because i bought a 1440p monitor and would like to know if my CPU will bottleneck this card.

Thank you!

No, I mean you'll get better performance in most games than with a 1060, or a 2070, and that's kinda the point right?

No. in most games. In some yes but not in all. I have 1700 and gtx 970 but i have seen people with 1700 and rtx 2080ti having good perfomance at max settings 1440p and 4k. Even if botteneck it will not be realy a problem because you will still running 1440p 60 fps on evrything unless you want to use ray trracing. However you did a big mistake to get 2070 super. You should had waited for next gen like iam doing so i can get a card that will have full ray tracing support and that wiill be able to run it 1440p max settings on evrything instead of wasting 500-1200 euros on 2070 super 2080 super or 2080ti and after so much money spent you have a card not capable of running max settings 1440p with full ray tracing. That why after 7 months of considering buyign a 2080 ti i decied to wait for 3080ti.

my gtx 970 still runs evrything max settings 1440p3 0+ fps and is 4 years and 11 months old. If you already have gtx 970 or better and not intersest in raytracing there is no need to upgrade.

30 FPS is not an accomplishment, stop acting like it is.

If you've "seen" it, care to actually prove it? Compare FPS results with 2nd and 3rd gen Ryzen with a 2080 Ti against it? I guarantee the performance would be far greater.

Search YouTube for that hardware and particular game and see, the degree or lack of bottleneck would vary.

FCND relies a lot on strong ipc/ghz and you can see it clearly when the helicopter is firing on the small island, even 1440p the 1600x takes a dive but again it'll vary by game.

And ^ 1600x to 3600x vs 8700k

30fps is fine depending on what the gamer is willing to accept (and the budget--that is the most important part of what people will accept...); as long as he's happy right?

of course perfomance will be better with ryzen 3000 but it will be very good with 1 gen too. When gtx 970 released the cpu i had then was years 8 months old(core i5 2500k) however despite the bottleneck i was running evrything at max settings 1080p 60+ fps most games at 60 fps too. Ryzen 1700 will also be about such old when next gen graphics cards release so it will be ok. There are rumors already that amd is preparing a Radeon 5900 which will be more powerful than 2080ti at a much cheaper price. This means that they will give us rtx 3080ti powerr months before nvidia at a cheaper price so when nvidia release thems they will be in trouble as many people will buy 5900 instead of waiting for rtx 3000 but iam loyal to nvidia and will never buy an amd graphics card! According to leaks this might happen even in next month since Lisas su said yesterday that they will announce them very soon. With gtx 970 my 1700 works at less than 50% most of the time as you see in that video that i uploaded now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_49NMt_oxY w But with better graphics card it will be at 100% and perfomance will be much better,
