Or, at least in the UK it is.
If hes using an M.2 slot then it'd be better to compare the 660p against the 970 evo plus, in which case the 970 evo plus is much faster although at almost £100 more than the 660p
I have a lot of games, and in 2 years using the Samsung 960 EVO I have only 17 TBW out of the 400 TBW warranty. Gamers have no need to pay for MLC drives.
Ehh... with new games almost require 100gb of storage disk, 1tb is not that much nowadays. But then if you just wanna ignore every part of ssd and just focus on "gaming, theres no point to this conversation.
But yall thought ssd read/write speed actually provides any real benefit to gaming 🤦♂️
Just get the cheapest ssd out there. There's zero benefit for "gamers" to pick expensive ssd (m2 or not) over the cheapest ssd you could find.
There's little else a ''gamer'' would use his drive for.
If you're using it for something else like video storage/scratch disk, then maybe you'll come close. Only people that are doing loads of editing will actually find use for a 'Pro' series drive.
No one here claimed that.
Cheap drives are trash, the cheapest of the cheapest I mean.
You can still get some 'cheap' drives are are good (SU800 as an example.)
But, if an M.2 NVMe is the same price as a SATA SSD, or cheaper, why not pick it up? You're going to get nothing but benefits; faster load times (NO MATTER HOW MARGINAL), no cables to manage, smaller form factor (Good for both airflow, and dust collection.)
And What makes you think ppl dont cycle through games
Ahahha... ladies and gentlemen, you hear it here first, ssd disrupt airflow
Sure m8, ssd cable must be that huuugee of a problem
Depends where you put it, it could have an impact, that's like saying 'cables don't affect airflow.'
And you can't deny dust collection.
Maybe you enjoy cables, maybe you don't care, but it's a better interface.
No cables, no worries about breaking SATA / SATA power cables breaking off the little tabs that they clip onto. M.2 is a better more robust port.
Plus, there's less overall space taken up. Something minimalists like; and something I personally like. Why have a cable if you don't NEED to?
