Confused with how the freesync compatibility with Nvidia
I’m gonna be getting a new monitor which has freesync and at first I thought it’s just gonna be a feature I have no use for since I use a Nvidia card but then I heard about how you can use freesync with a Nvidia card so what’s the deal lol I’m confused if it’s only for certain monitors or it’s available for everyone....I’m getting a AOC 24V2Q

If it's on nvidia list of supported displays, you enable FreeSync on the monitors settings, then enable gsync in your Nvidia software. Just ensure a clean install of latest Nvidia drivers

You can enable Freesync on any Freesync supporting monitor however implementations of the tech differ per monitor so it may not work. Nvidia does have a list of supported "Gsync Compatible" monitors which have been tested and confirmed to work.

Yes I'd have a look at the list first
It's annoying that my own freesync monitor isn't fully supported despite being a ROG STRIX.
But is there still an option for me to enable it even if my monitor isn’t in the list and if possible what will potentially happen

Apparently even if your display wasn't approved or whatever by Nvidia for compatibility, you can still manually enable it to work with nvidia control panel. In that page I guess there's a video showing some ugly results of a possibly bad combination of display and gpu. Didn't play for me though, popup blocker or whatever for some reason isn't allowing it to play. You might want to check out that page. Probably has the answers you're looking for.

That video might also help you.
