Logitech F710 connection issue
I've post this in off topic steam discussion years ago

Hi, I've bought the new logitech f710 gamepad but there is a problem when I using the gamepad. My gamepad keeps disconnecting and makes the player moves by itself. I have this gamepad almost a year now and the problem still occurs. Sometimes it has no problem but often it happened again. I don't know this is my gamepad that is broken or this is my computer problem. Is this issue happen to anyone? Is it the gamepad or is it windows its a problem? I'm now using windows 10. They say to turn off usb suspension power control option but it doesn't seem to work. I'm plugging it to the usb hub even usb extension but still no avail. If you guys have any solutions it will be great. I don't wanna waste another money to a wired gamepad.

EDIT

I've done the research that the router might also the cause because of the channel might interfere the wireless signal of my gamepad. My router is tp link TL-WR940ND.

Plug the usb dongle into a usb port directly. If you must use a usb extension that should be fine, but don't use usb hub for it.

I would suspect weak batteries or wireless interference. Also, if you're plugging into a USB hub, make sure it's an AC powered hub.

AC power is not necessary i think, if you watch video with subtitles, it is explained.

For anything wireless like any sort of small dongle, it's best to use a usb extension cable and plug the cable into a rear motherboard usb port. Then set up the cable so that the plugged in dongle is well away from the PC power supply, blocked by any metal objects, or near something else that is wireless such as modem/router.

hmm, maybe it's also because i plugged the dongle in the front . my brother plugged the dongle through Razer keyboard which has usb port in it and have no problem, eventhough he also has 2.4 Ghz Huawei modem&TP Link router near his computer .

USB dongle is not good for rear of the PC. Due to metal shielded against RF. It should be on front of the PC or use short extension USB.

Sorry for necro'ing your thread but just want to add to this discussion since I have this same issue.I bought mine last week and this issue is there from day one.I got a replacement from logitech but that one also has this issue.

This is an issue with the controller itself. Specifically due to it's weak wireless connectivity with the nano receiver.

Solution is to use a usb hub or the provided extension cable ( the male to female usb cable) to position the nano receiver away from any possible interference and at as much distance as possible.

I plugged the cable to my pc front panel and positioned the female end away from my pc and router and to it I connected the nano receiver. Now it works without any issue.

I have been playing with this for over 2+ hours now and it seems the issue has not occured yet.
