changing where steam installs games?
like the subject says, how can I change where steam installs a game? If its explained someplace on the site, my dyslexia is probably interfering with my navigating/finding it.

My spouse's laptop broke and until we can buy a nice new one next month, they'd like to at least play some simple games on the old crappy back up laptop we pulled out of storage. It doesn't have the memory to install pretty much anything,

we figured we could install the games to an SSD card, but steam doesn't give an option of where to install - it just says how much space is on the C drive (virtually nothing) and refuses to install. Is there a way to change this?

Top left corner of Steam ----> Settings ----> Downloads ----> Click on "Steam Library Folder" ----> Click "Add Folder to Library ---> Then right click on that folder and select "Make Default Folder".

If you have no folders to add just skip the adding a folder part.

Anywhere u want, you designate this via steam client, settings, downloads, steam library folder. Make new folder from there. Once in your library listing will now be a choice when u go to install or move a game
