DCOM ERROR CRASH? (i think)

has anyone else experienced a DCOM error that reboots your machine? i even set it not to and my pc will still reboot, i never had this issue until i bought new pc parts maybe something isn't compatible together? is that even possible now a days? the error is 10016 and it has to do with editing registry keys permissions in the component services im not Bill Gates ive never done anything like this before to my PC. is anyone a little more familiar with this issue? any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

yeah. Idea was to fully wipe the drive. If you didn't you can still test it out and see if it functions any better however you did it. Wouldn't hurt. If your computer works fine now then oh well, whatever you did fixed it. But if it still gets errors it might be because you didn't do a full install. Point of a full clean install (wiping drive) is that it ensures and guarantees that the old system and it's issues no longer exist and a brand new optimized Windows configuration is set up from Windows installer.

okay i really appreciate your help i learned a lot today thank you. if this doesn't work ill re do it properly but a great sign is there was no errors in the event log and things seem proper. ill let you know if my games crash or if it works from here on in

My advice is to make a true proper actual system backup image. Like a clone of your drive the way it is with a program like Macrium Reflect or something like that. There are programs that can backup and also restore your computer with a couple clicks without messing with downloading installers or getting usb drives or configuring things. With good programs you just easily make the backup and then if you ever run into troubles again you can restore it.

oh ya and now i know exactly what to do ill disconnect the hard drive like you mentioned before. i was able to figure it out after awhile but i thought id easily be able to tell what was what regarding the partitions but yeah i couldn't... so if that's the proper way to do it ill let ya know tomorrow how it goes thanks again

Once your other drives are disconnected, delete all of drive 0 to wipe all of the c drive partitions. There are multiples on an OS drive, that is normal. So for a full wipe, delete all partitions, you should only see drive 0 if you disconnected your extra drives before booting into the usb flash drive os installer.

But you should be fine, the os still got clean installed. But the previous os is still on the drive. To get rid of this, run Disk Cleanup via the run as admin option, select all the boxes and click OK

okay i did everything you said but i'm not sure about the windows services you mentioned do i enable all sub categories so the feature has a check beside it? i tried it today and i got the same crash i did everything you said but i only wasn't sure about the windows features.

this error ^^^ is the bane of my existence should i attempt to correct these permissions? is that safe? do i keep the windows features running even tho my game didn't work? should i pitch my PC into the river? i swear to god my life has become nothing but a series of let downs

i seen a fix online for the windows security center error i dont know if thats causing my game to crash. the other error with the 2 registry keys need altered permissions and ive never had to do anything like that before to play gta do you know what the hell is going on??
