yeah. Idea was to fully wipe the drive. If you didn't you can still test it out and see if it functions any better however you did it. Wouldn't hurt. If your computer works fine now then oh well, whatever you did fixed it. But if it still gets errors it might be because you didn't do a full install. Point of a full clean install (wiping drive) is that it ensures and guarantees that the old system and it's issues no longer exist and a brand new optimized Windows configuration is set up from Windows installer.
My advice is to make a true proper actual system backup image. Like a clone of your drive the way it is with a program like Macrium Reflect or something like that. There are programs that can backup and also restore your computer with a couple clicks without messing with downloading installers or getting usb drives or configuring things. With good programs you just easily make the backup and then if you ever run into troubles again you can restore it.

But you should be fine, the os still got clean installed. But the previous os is still on the drive. To get rid of this, run Disk Cleanup via the run as admin option, select all the boxes and click OK

this error ^^^ is the bane of my existence should i attempt to correct these permissions? is that safe? do i keep the windows features running even tho my game didn't work? should i pitch my PC into the river? i swear to god my life has become nothing but a series of let downs
