Corsair, SeaSonic, EVGA, BeQuiet, SuperFlower
She recommending you good brands, because you have a PSU that will last a long time, and ensure you get the power you need. The issue with cheap PSU's, or knock off PSUs, can either have shorten life, no protection if something goes wrong, or unable to supply you the power that needed, despite advertising the amount of watts, what that means, it will do 500W, but it won't be stable and you may encounter system shut off without warning.
Basically what you want is good brand that known to make good PSU's, and that are brozen rated, or Gold rated, this way you have the warrenty protection on the PSU, and you know you're getting a good working product that does exactly what it's advertising on the product.
^This.
Good idea? No. You'll have a good chance of killing other parts in your PC, because it most likely doesn't have any protection, so if it goes bang, PC goes bang.
Buy good, or don't buy at all. Literally the golden rule for PSUs.
SeaSonic 520w aren't expensive either
As before check looking into these brands. Corsair, SeaSonic, EVGA, BeQuiet, SuperFlower.
Brozen 80+ rated, or Gold 80+ rated.
Which one you think worth it, a decent good PSU that's won't kill your hardware if something goes wrong? Or trying to penny pinch hard going for cheap no name knock offs, where something could go wrong very quick?
