How to force letterbox on a widescreen monitor?(Intel HD)
I've been having this issue in many games ever since I switched to Windows 10, where if I play a game at an 4:3 aspect ratio while in fullscreen, it will stretch the image instead of making black borders and it has been a pain since then. Known affected games...are pretty much any.

I tried googling for a solution, but none seemed to exist. I was only able to find solutions to...stretch the display.

go to the intel hd control panel, and scaling options, set it to scale or centered

or to let a game run at native res, try the help from https://www.wsgf.org/mgl

I checked the panel and at the Scaling Options and the only ones there...

Other than that, the Customize option doesn't seem to...change anything. It only makes the screen smaller.

try getting the latest gpu driver from intel, not windows update

It makes no difference. I've already tried. Same options. Although from intel I just have better performance for some reason.

im not sure if windows 10 has a reso that suppports such old and small amount of pixles, i would try and set my actual resolution to a 480p pixel if i was you and see if that works.

That's...the one I have installed. Yeah. Also my max resolution is 1080p. But it doesn't have a Maintain Aspect Ratio option. Just Maintain Display Scaling.

check the monitor settings
it should have option to show native or scale instead of stretch for non native resolutions

Yeah, I checked that too, but unfortunately, there's no option to show native.

I think on a tv it's labelled pixel:pixel and in the gpu control panel keep aspect ratio.

No such option unfortunately. The Monitor is a Samsung T24B531.
