It came off, but did it break?
I've had them come off before and was able to reinstall it again.
No you can't buy them. Not all boards use the same latch style.

As long as the gpu is not super heavy and gets installed flush into the slot and screwed down, it should be fine unless you were to bang on the pc or move it.

In the past I have gotten around a missing latch being an issue by using a zip-tie

It's not damaged the board its just snapped off, i would try and detach one from the other pcie slot but i could end up damaging the board if i did that. I have it connected and screwed in and its being okay playing games but im getting like a rakketing noise sometimes and i just want to rule out vibration from the gpu making the noise.
Reboot the pc and let the gpu remain idle without Steam or similar apps running, the gpu fans should then be off, ruling out noise from the gpu.

When I spoke upon damages, I meant... you said the latch popped off, ok... Is this latch damaged? If not just reinstall it into the slot

You can't buy them, the only thing you could do is get a new motherboard but I don't recommend doing that because a GPU can function just fine without it. As long as it's somewhat secure and seated into the PCIE slot you'll be fine. Just make sure that you have the GPU screwed in if you PC does fall the GPU won't fall out of the slot and break glass or break the GPU in general.

But overall I've broken a GPU retention slot and I haven't had issues with my GTX 1050 so you should be fine without it.

The 1 or 2 screws that hold the card in place is sufficient as long as you make sure the card is seated. No need to worry, the card won't jump off even if you move the whole computer.
If you move the pc while it's like this, simply lay it down motherboard side flat, the weight of the gpu should keep it in place

A gpu support bracket might help you with some peace of mind. I got a Uphere brand one from Amazon for like 10 bucks when I got my 2070 because I couldn't stand the thought of gpu sag.

iv cut a bunch off, the ones that are under the gpu heatsink are nearly impossible to get to to remove the gpu when latched
if the latch is on the opposite side of the gpu heatsink it can stay

Il try this, if this rules out the noise its could be my rear fans bearings on the way out.

But thanks for all the other comments, my GPU is screwed in via two screws.
The latch in no way puts a stop to gpu sagging. The latch holds the bottom of the card flush with the pcie slot is all.

^ this
it only holds the card in, any decent case is sturdy enough to do that
if the rear io slot area is not strong enough near the main mobo io, the case should not make it to market
