Do you guys think Xbox 360 controller still worth to buy?
Been ages for being mouse+keyboard elitist. Do you guys think xbox 360 wireless controller still worth to buy? Considering its price is as half as Xbox one controller...

I don't see why not. I personally don't value things based on something relative. I think if the item is worth it, it's worth it no matter what something else costs. If the controller is like $25 I say so. I wouldn't pay more than that because I use mostly mouse/keyboard. If I was primarily a controller user though I suppose I'd probably be willing to pay $50 for something I would be using all the time. Currently for the little bit of controller use that I do I use a original Playstation 1 controller with a usb adapter.

I use a flight stick for flight games, wheel for driving games, Mouse + Keyboard for more traditional desktop games, motion controllers for VR games and last but not least a xbox 360 controller just for a few VR games and desktop 3D platformers I own. So far nothing has justified a xbox one controller purchase and If I wanted wireless, I'd probably just buy a steam controller when it;s on sale for less.

If gaming is your hobby and you'll use the 360 controller....buy it. It will work with a large amount of games on Steam.

I am planning to use controller only for few JRPG I have in my library (playing them with keyboard is a bit PITA). Thank you for your feedback!

yes
on par with xbone/ds3/ds4

i like the sony dpads much more, but it will work as well with ported games and with steam link

Works fine. Imho just as good as xbone but cheaper to get as new old stock.

I prefer the XBox One gamepad simply due to the way superior DPad. If you even remotely need to use it, the 360 one is just frustrating.

Yes, sure, if you're comfortable playing your games with a controller. I personally use a Dualshock 4 in most of my games and I have no issues whatsoever.

Then it's an excellent choice! Also, just like _I_ said - there also are XO, DS3 and DS4 controllers. Honestly, playing JRPG on Sony controllers makes a bit more sense as it's how most of the JRPGs were meant to played, but that's just my humble opinion. What really matters is how the controller does feel in your hands. I find X360 triggers weird and generally grabbing my hands around DS4 feels like coming home from a long trip, I can just grab it anytime with no particular reason just for the feeling of my hands being completed so perfectly. I recommend going to some console store or whatever and try to play a bit with all four of the suggested controllers. The one that feels so right you can't let go, like it's perfectly fitting the holes in your hands and your heart - buy that one and be happy together.

I have one and like it, but the d-pad is quite frustrating in games like Mortal Kombat when doing special attacks.
I looked up the X-Box One Pad, but dunno why the wired costs more as the wireless. MSI made some good alternative gamepads to the original 360 (MSI GC 20/30), but dunno if it recognizes out of box just like original or needs some driver.

This. At this point just get a XboxOne pad, price is basically the same for a new one and the XboxOne is just way better. Also no annoying wireless receiver needed, just connect with Bluetooth.
Thank you all for your feedback. Much appreciated. I already ordered xbox 360 controller from my local distributor. Can't wait to play (leisurely) JRPG games without staring too near to the monitor hahaha.

You will require the MS 360 usb wireless adapter

The default X360 controller's got almost 3m cable lenght, bet this is enough for "not staring too near to the monitor".

My mistake, he was talking about wireless one.
