GTX 1080 Ti lost signal
Hi there, anyone else had a issue like this ?.

Saturday the pc was running fine, went online and watched rugby via my vpn i use in Windows 10 then shut down and a couple of hours later spent rest of evening youtubing and browsing through Windows 7 ( dual boot ).

Sunday fired up the pc to play a game through Windows 10 but got the message on my tv "no hdmi signal", thought that was strange, hadn't changed any drivers or had windows updates in the last 3-4 days or changed anything in the bios.

Disconnected the hdmi cable from the tv, waited a minute then reconnected, did this with all the hdmi inputs, still no signal, tried the other hdmi outlet on the card and the same results, onboard video worked so i knew it wasn't the tv or the cable.

Went to my daughters boyfriends place and we hooked it up to his Asus widescreen monitor firstly with the hdmi then display port and nothing, again onboard worked.

Monday just gone took the pc into where i brought the card, they connected via the 1080's dvi output and got a signal, desktop showed up, then they connected the hdmi via the dvi and also got a signal, what !!!, was told i could leave the pc for testing but they had a backlog and it would be three weeks before they could look at it.

Ok, so i said i would try a new cable and if no luck i would just bring the card back, that way i could still use the onboard for my internet.

Went home hooked it all back up with the new cable.......nothing, no signal again, so i took the card out hopped in the car and thought, wonder if i try putting it back in, start the pc before i turn on the tv ( duh ) and see what happens, ( pretty sure i had already tried that, but ), so i did and bugger me if the desktop didn't pop back up and everything is running fine now, although some icons had disappeared from the taskbar ?????.

So is the consensus, that just by re-seating the graphics card i solved the problem or could there have been another issue ?, would like to see others opinions and if this has happened to them.

So in short, it's just the 1080Ti HDMI output being faulty right?
perhaps the gpu got unseated.
i experienced 'lost signal' multiple times on my very old nvidia 9800GT

Don't think so as its working fine now, and besides we tried both HDMI's and all the Display Ports, long winded OP i know, but all info helps, eh.
