front panel usb not working.

8 months ago i decided to do cable managment and so required me unplugging the data cable for the front panel, after i put it back in my front panel usb stopped working. whenever i plug it in I get a:

Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Failed), (Code 43).

When I try to change the driver for it, I get a bunch of Unknown USB Devices (Update Driver > Browse PC > Select From A List) and when I select anything other than the Unknown USB Device drivers I get an Code 31.

I've tried installing motherboard drivers, doing the weird fix where you unistall it then refresh it (and so on), and so on but still the same error.

For a while I've gave up on it and just used a bunch of USB hubs and USB cord extenders on my rear panel USB to compensate for it, but now it's been getting on my nerves again.

I've also heard dirty USBs can cause the Code 43 error but they're perfectly clean.

So it's been eight months since it started acting this way?. Do all the other usb ports work fine?. Other usb devices work this way or just one? Does any usb device work properly in it?.

check the front panel connector, make sure its plugged into a usb header

Also check you haven't bent one of the pins in the header.

the rear panel USB is fine its only the two on the front don't work, when i plug something like a keyboard or flash drive in, it'll recieve power but windows will notifiy me the device is not functioning.

well. Only thing I can think of is try powering it off again and re-connecting it. I know you say it's plugged in right but sometimes things happen. Try connecting it again and whatever thing wasn't right before maybe it'll fix it. If you have tried that already then try bending the cable a teen bit at the base by where it is attached to the connector. Just bend it slightly a little bit maybe a wire is loose or something.

The end that connect to the motherboard. Like where the cable starts that is connected to the connector that you plug into the motherboard. Just bend it a little bit. Please don't blame me if it's worse off after that, That'd be messed if Windows doesn't detect it at all after you do that but what do you have to lose, it doesn't work the way it is now.
