My BIOS Settings Won't Save
Ever since I built this PC, it didn't have the best performance and I looked up for every solution to make it gain more FPS but then I realised that the IGPU is being used instead so I went into the BIOS and set the Nvdia VGA Controller as primary but when I save and exit, the BIOS settings don't save.

My Specifications:

- 4GB GTX 1050 Ti
- AMD A12 9800E
- 8 GB RAM (DDR4)
- 2 TB Hard Drive
- 550 Watt Corsair PSU
- AM4 Socket Motherboard

is there a BIOS battery?
On the motherboard there should be a CR2032 which keeps the BIOS settings when the PC is off. Might be time to replace the battery.

If the IGPU is being used and not the GTX then you have the monitor connected to the IGPU and disabling it in the Bios will result in no image at all. Connect the monitor to the GPU not the motherboard. GTX connectors will go

The monitor has always been connected to the GPU ports.

It seems like it may be my only option.

But which GPU ports? If Games are using the IGPU, as you said, then the monitor must be connected to the Motherboard(IGPU and not the GTX GPU. Just because you see GPU ports does not mean they are for the same device.

Look at these images.

The motherboard connections you see in that image will look different to yours but it's a simple example. Looking at that and then the case image the motherboard back plate will be located to the left of that fan in a vertical position. The motherboard has the connectors for the IGPU and only the IGPU.

The GPU as in your GTX will be located in the Horizontal slots below the motherboard connections. You must have your monitor connected to one of these connectors. If you have it connected to the motherboard the GTX is doing nothing.

Since my GPU does not have a VGA port and my monitor is limited to VGA only, I have a VGA to DP converter since the GPU only accepts DP, DPI and HDMI ports.

Still doesn't change the fact that you have your monitor connected to the IGPU/Motherboard connections and not the GTX GPU. Games cannot be using the IGPU unless the monitor is physically connected to it.

If it's not the battery, then post a picture of the back of your computer with monitor plugged in.
And FWIW, using an adapter for digital to vga is just asking for trouble.

Modern pcs never have a bios option to select the gpu.

Connect all displays to the dedicated gpu. Yes Windows will have both gpus showing, however this is normal and only the dedicated gpu will be used if that's where all the displays are connected to.

Well something is really affecting my FPS and I have tried loads of solutions and nothing seems to work.

Which games and settings?
Look let's be real, your cpu and gpu are crap for gaming at 1080p/60 and get a steady fps of 60 or higher in games that are demanding.

Why did you buy an APU and not at least a Ryzen 1200 or better.

And why 8gb of ram?

I mostly play Team Fortress 2 which is painful to play due to the FPS and I have those specs because I was on a really tight budget but even with them, the FPS should be much higher, I am constantly have drops every 3 seconds and average below 40 FPS.

Monitor your cpu and gpu temps and see if one or the other is getting too hot.

Try wiping all the chipset and gpu drivers out and installin the very latest drivers for amd ryzen chipset and the Nvidia gpu driver
